Eternity Rings - Symbolize Endless Love with Diamonds
70Eternity Rings, also called "Dress Wedding Rings" or "Diamond Infinity
Rings", are characterized by a continuous loop of precious diamonds
encircling the ring which symbolize the never ending love of the giver
to the recipient. They are popular especially as gifts to observe a
milestone in a couple's marriage (such as a 10th or 25th wedding
anniversary), the birth of a new child, the welcome resolution to a
health crisis or a victory like the securement of a well-deserved
promotion.
When designing the elements of an Eternity Ring, the setting, kind of
metal and shape are among the many characteristics that should be taken
into consideration. Eternity Rings can be full rings which feature a
complete circle of stones around the entire ring, or a half ring which
only showcases stones around half the band. Because full eternity rings
are not resizeable, many women prefer a half-ring that presents the
stones on the front of the ring as it is worn on the finger. Half rings
are also a way to enjoy this style ring without the expense of
investing in the full number of stones it would take to encircle the
full ring.
So Much Choice!
Eternity Rings Design
The more compact diamond shapes such as round, princess and emerald
cuts, are the best stones to use in Eternity Ring design because the
stones must be nestled closely together. Because the stones go all the
way around the circumference of the ring in full eternity rings,
smaller sized stones are usually selected, with larger stones possible
in half-ring designs. It is also possible to employ stones with minor
flaws in this style ring without detracting from the overall beauty of
the piece.
Diamonds are traditionally the featured stone of choice for Eternity
Ring settings, although they are not the only gemstone which can be
incorporated into this ring style. Emeralds, rubies, sapphires and
tanzanites are the most popular precious gems that are usually chosen
to be paired with diamonds in this style ring, either in an alternating
or repeating pattern around the ring. Another way that individuals make
the Eternity Ring unique is to incorporate the birthstone of the
recipient or birthstones of children into the design.
Styles
There are a number of different styles in which the diamonds or other
gemstones can be set. Prong settings, similiar to a pave setting, are
most popular when only diamonds are used. Channel settings can also be
used, hold the gems in place securely and can fit snugly against other
rings worn at the same time. Bar settings make for a more intriquitely
designed ring, placing a bar of gold or platinum between each stone to
create a repeating pattern. For an even more elaborately styled
Eternity Ring, these bars can be figural such as vines, flowers or
leaves positioned in between the gemstones.
Most popular metals for creating an eternity band are white gold, yellow gold, platinum and titanium. The Eternity Ring can be worn with other rings such as the traditional wedding band and engagement ring. But most women prefer to wear this stunning ring on its own.
