The Search for Quick Weight Loss

The world is filled with people who need to lose weight. Many of these people spend lots of time searching for quick weight loss solutions. Some of these options are fly-by-night fad diets that involve drinking a lot of lemon juice and warm water. Others have been around for a long time .

Medifast is becoming an increasingly popular option for quick weight loss. It's been around since the 1980's but is attracting a lot of attention as some celebrities and high-profile football coaches have been in the news because of their Medifast success. Many Medifasters report losing 20 pounds in their first month on the program.

3 Important Considerations

If you're considering a diet or weight loss plan, there are three important things to take into consideration.

  • Difficulty. How hard is it to stay on the diet?
  • Discomfort. How much suffering do you have to endure in order to lose the weight?
  • Effectiveness. Does the diet really work? Or is it just a waste of time, money and effort?

How Difficult is Medifast?

Compared to other weight loss plans, Medifast is really easy. There isn't much to think about or figure out because everything is planned for you. This makes it really great for lazy people! The meals are pre-planned and mostly pre-packaged so there is no need to count calories. Most of the diet consists of eating the pre-packaged foods and drinking lots of water. Each day you will prepare one "Lean and Green" meal. But even that is pretty easy.

The toughest part of Medifast is making yourself eat all the food on a regular schedule. For the first few days you will be tempted to eat off-program, but after that it gets a lot easier. Eventually, you will find yourself tempted to even skip the Medifast mini-meals. Don't do this! It's important that you eat exactly what is on the plan. No more, no less. And NO CHEATING!

Thankfully, all of the food is really good so it's not like you'll be torturing yourself.

What About Discomfort?

The Medifast weight loss plan is carefully designed to give your body a carefully calibrated balance of protein, carbohydrates, fat and calories. This will take a little getting used do. The average time period is about three days. After this, your body will enter "ketosis." Ketosis is when your body starts "eating" your fat as opposed to the food that you are putting into it.

I like to refer to the first three days as going through "medifast detox." Many people experience headaches and a general sense of tired-ness. It's not terrible, but you won't feel like yourself. But after this period you will wake up and feel awesome. You'll have more energy and you'll feel less hungry.

Is Medifast Effective?

I have personally already lost over 50 pounds on Medifast and I am gearing up for the final phase. I will be down to my medically-recommended weight in another month or so. This will be the first time I've been at my ideal weight since high school. Since starting Medifast, I've met a lot of other Medifasters who have had even more impressive success.

It's definitely possible to lose 20 pounds in your first month. You have to stick with the program, but it's not that difficult and you definitely WILL have success. I've met people who have lost more than 20 pounds in their first month. The key is to follow the program to the letter. The closer you stick to it, the more successful you will be.

If you're looking for ways to lose weight fast, Medifast is an easy, safe and excellent option.
