What exactly do you know about the Pareto principle and how it affects your business?

To be honest, it’s just a really fancy name for the well known 80/20 rule. It applies directly to your events and your success. Listen to what one of the experts have to say:

“An event that is well planned and executed with proper marketing will almost always outperform an event that is perfectly planned and has poor marketing.” – Eugene Loj, Online Business Strategist

Just imagine how dissapointed you’d be after spending days and weeks, planning the perfect event, only to realize that you just lost precious time and money because nobody shows up.Planning the perfect event and not promoting it the right way is like building a 5-star hotel… on the moon!

Now, we all know that our time and resources are limited, so I’m not about to give away all the latest rocket-science-marketing-methods that will fill your seats. Instead, I’ll show you five simple methods that you can start using today!

1. Run a competition
Start the competition online and end it at the event with the prize ceremony. Give the competitors extra points for recruiting even more competitors.

2. Offer a reward to “early birds”
Get people to sign up early for your event by offering them a reward. Keep your website updated with the number of seats remaining. When other people see that your seats are filling, they’ll get some extra motivation to sign up. The reward for the “early birds” can be a discount on one of your products, a free report or

3. Start an email campaign
Write a compelling email about the event and all the benefits of attending. Send it to all your friends and previous event visitors and ask them to forward it to their friends who might be interested in the event.

4. Find a partner
Can you co-promote your event? Sure! Find a good partner and you’ll both benefit from it. If your event is about “web design” then you can partner with someone running a “web hosting” business.

5. Let your audience promote your event
Make your promotion material available on your website and ask your visitors to forward it to their friends or communities. A lot of people visit events to network with other people with the same interests, so let them know that they can help you and make it a really successful event.

So, what are you waiting for?

Skip the rocket-science-marketing for now and focus on the basics. Focus on the Pareto-principle and get 80% of the work done with only 20% of the effort!
