Event public liability insurance, which is also sometimes referred to as special event liability insurance, can be customized to fit the needs of the policy holder. Depending on their needs and the details of the event, the protection coverage can range from $100,000 to $10,000,000. Usually this is dependent not only on the nature of the event but it is also dependant on the number of people who are attending. If the event has some degree of risk involved, more coverage will be necessary. In addition, if thousands of people are attending as opposed to just a few, more coverage will be necessary.

The deductible amount can also be customized to fit the event. This amount can range from $1,000 to $10,000 and is the choice of the party being insured. The higher the deductible will result in a lower amount for the premium. How much can be paid out is the question that must be answered.

One of the best features of the event public liability insurance is the length of the coverage. Unlike other types of insurance that require a lengthy coverage, this type of insurance can be short term. In the case of a wedding reception, for example, which only lasts a few hours, the coverage can be set up for a period of two days. This makes the cost of the insurance extremely affordable.

Any claims that are submitted for payment must be done within framework of the policy. Any claim must be made within the submitting period that is stated in the policy.

It is only fair to note that some places require that this type of coverage be purchased. If an event is being held at a public location, like a reception hall, the owners may stipulate that before holding the event, the insurance must be bought. This will defer the liability away from the reception hall.

Not everybody is eligible to buy this type of insurance. There are some requirements and some stipulations that must be met.

First and foremost, all necessary documents must be secured. All required permits and paperwork must be supplied to the carrier before the insurance policy can be put into effect.

In order for this insurance to be offered, the applicant must have a clean record. Only applicants that have not turned in claims will generally be considered. The insurance company will ask for proof that no previous claims have been submitted and that there is not any knowledge of any future claims.

Locating this type of insurance is not difficult. There are many places that can be accessed for a comparison of features and premiums.

Your existing insurance company may offer public event liability insurance and they may offer it to you with a discount if other insurance policies are in effect with them. Call your agent and check its’ availability.

If that doesn’t appeal to you, try the internet. There are many sites available offering this insurance and the rates can be easily compared. Making this type of insurance shopping more appealing is that there are no insurance agents pressuring you to buy.
