Events in Cornwall

Being a bit in the sticks Cornwall often doesn't attract the global tours, however Cornwall normally gets some very special events that make it better than ever! You get the common events that happen every year, with the historic 20 year ongoing Run to the Sun, amazing Rip Curl Boardmasters and the extreme Budweiser K festival you really can't go wrong! All three of the featured events happen right smack bang in the heart of the Cornwall tourist industry, where else? Newquay of course!

The Run to the Sun is a classic, ongoing for over 20 years now it is an amazing event with over 10,000 people attending. It is based in Trevelgue Holiday Park where the show and shine is, along with some amazing mixed events. The whole event is generally speaking VW orientated with masses of pimped out VW beetles and campervans taking to the streets for the weekend. While you have all that fun to come and see, there is always more to do, being in Newquay you have sun, surf, shops and bars everywhere you look and there is something for all the family!

Newquay being the heart of the UK surf and tourism industry attracts thousands of surfers from all around every year but at no one time is Newquay busier with surfers, skaters, BMX and motocross! With stalls, a main gig room, a vert skate ramp and a beer tent you almost miss the best beach in Cornwall - Fistral. The Boardmasters event is based on the Fistral beach front next to the headland hotel, watch out though you won't get a peaceful days sunbathing as Fistral is busy at the best of times and at Boardmasters it's PACKED. Prices vary but generally speaking to see the bands its ~£25 but to just go down and enjoy the day its usually free.

If you like sun, sea and sound then this is the festival for you, with 12 hours of music per day the K festival is probably the best festival in the UK! Based in the centre of Newquay where the clubs are open till the early hours with plenty of bars and clubs the nightlife is just as good as the music! The K festival features electric music and more of it then you will find anywhere else in the summer!
