Every and anyone can help their fellow man.
72Still many good people left to help.
I felt I should emphasize that not all or even dare I say most people are users. It is just that users seem to have a radar for good people and therefor you feel as though there are more bad than good. Actually, most people are pretty darn good and giving if they can find a worthy person and or cause. My daughter and I have taken part in numerous volunteer programs as well as giving to all kinds of charities through out the year and in times of tragedy. Then there are the plain old lend a hand situations.
What I want to make clear is that while protecting yourself from users and abusers do not close your heart to the many real and needy situations where you can be of service to so many good and worthy people or causes. For one day it may be you who needs a hand, even if it is just your arms are full and it would be nice if someone opened that door. When suddenly, running behind you to beat you to the door you hear footsteps and a voice saying I got you. Man did that help and boy was it just in the nick of time.
Pick and choose your acts of kindness wisely and with care. Never close your heart to all and never think everyone is the same. Not all homeless are lazy, crazy, alcoholics that want to rob you but some are. Not all lazy, crazy alcoholics are homeless. Nor are all robbers and muggers dirty and homeless. You get my point. Keep an open heart, mind and soul. Do what you can from your heart but use your head and mind's eye to determine your limitations. Put things in priority with you first and enjoy what you are doing or you are already wrong.
Firemen and many others are good examples of those that have a job that many would never consider and when you talk to them they LOVE their work. However, even they have to know when to say no I will not go in. They must use there head at all times and weigh the situation. Certainly, there is more to it than my simplification but for my purposes that is all I needed to say.
Do not cut off completely all the good you can do because of the few bad apples. Be selective and sort through the barrel of causes to find the one you have a passion for and feel deserves or warrants your intervention. Leave the rest for others and leave your guilt behind too. For as I said in my other writing, you cannot save the world and definitely not the unworthy.
Continue to do from your heart with caution and discernment. If you are a believer in the Almighty, ask for His help and intercession but always remember to consider yourself and your priorities first. Notice I said priorities not all your wants and desires. To be a good person and help humanity we must often set aside those things for a greater good.
Our world will be a better place if we all do our little part and that includes letting the unworthy seek more professional help or go without but not allowing them to dishearten or harden our spirit of love and giving. This is from the one who has been walked on and misused. Learn from your mistakes and be more careful in your selections. Some apples contain a worm but you do not cut down the whole tree. You may have to treat that tree for a period of time but usually it is a fluke chance of one in the hundreds or thousands of fruit the tree will yield.
Happy assisting of your needy fellow man or woman. Life is not as easy for some as others or as fair sometimes. Give a hand when you can. Never forget there is always someone worse off than you. We all can help on different levels and degrees. Love ya!!!

Why thank you!!!
Acts of kindness are so welcomed in this world- especially the random ones!
...And so necessary. I agree!!!
I'm proud of you and your example to your daughter. Just keep your heart open and the Holy Spirit will lead you to where you need to serve next. And I feel you already do that.
I believe in prayer and its power, God has my back and my helm, when God is in control what man can be against you? Thank you again for your kind words.
