Excerpt from the original work, Evil Alchemy and the Hidden Code of the Secret Platinum:
"Platonic and Socratic philosophy, above the cognitive underpinnings of the dialectical argument, never - ever espoused any sentiment, speculative or otherwise, that democracy is egalitarian governement of people as the utter representation of human freedom - never. So what then is democracy? The best answer I can come up with is actually very much steeped in the philosphical methods employed by the classical Greeks - Plato in particular. But the best "modern" explanation of democracy I have ever read - that elucidates its conception in all of its modern manifestations is by Bernard Crick in his In Defense of Politics:
"Democracy is perhaps the most promiscuous word in the world of public affairs. She is everybody's mistress and yet somehow retains her magic even when her lover sees that her favors are being, in his light, illicitly shared by many or another. Indeed, even amid our pain of being denied her exclusive fidelity, we are proud of her adaptability to all sorts of circumstances, to all sorts of company. How often has one heard, 'well at least the communists claim to be democratic?' But the real trouble is, of course, that they do not pretend to be democratic. They are democratic in the sound historical sense of a majority consenting to be ruled in a popular way."
I have heard "African-American scholars, such as Dr, Francis Cress Welsing, describe the term "minority" as a term that represents a psychological tactic meant to suppress the ability to see one's self as powerful. However, this "African centered" understanding obscures the reality of powerless-ness in fact. Minorities are quite literally powerless in contrast to the "majority." Majority is not simply a recognition of cogniitive minority inferiority, it is the expressed proclamation of an histroical actuality of control and power. The problem with "African-American" intellectualism, as I have stated, is that it misses the point of certain self-evident phenomena involving the existential reality of being "American." I say this because "white" and "black" people must realize that to see the whole picture, we must combine our efforts by not denying that I am of African descent and that you are of European descent, but, by realizing seperateness in this cultural/ethnic regard, can be protagonistic towards the development of real comprehensive understanding.
So then, what example of this can be reflected in a meaningful statement. Well, it is much more comprehensive to realize, that "American" "Western " culture has been created and dominated by European/European-descendent males for a very good reason; it is in fact "their" culture. From the powerless-ness oreintation of the "African-American" "minority", the logic that there is an impetus to view other peoples as inferior is not as integral to dominance in his own world than a child, living in its parent's house, can exercise his or her superiority as equals to the parents. The point here being, that democracy is democratic fundamentally in the way the Crick describes it; i.e., by virtue of the governance dynamic itself. Secondly and self-evidently, democracy really does represent the rule and governance of the majority. How majorities are fundamentally expressed through the behavior of the dominant are fundamentally arbitrary where the word democracy can be likened to the concept of perfection or beauty.
Democracy is in fact a conceptualization that represents an ideal; in other words, democracy is a concept that is a symbol for another concept that has no tangibility - by category. Democracy is an abstract conceptualization - a mental construct if you will, and, it simply cannot exist self-evidently because concepts as mental constructs simply have no real existence outside of one's head. The implication of this being, is that the masses believe that democracy exists through the way they think of reality generally, not becuase it is actually a self-evident (meaning, that it does not have to be proven from belief or some sort of thought process to be actual) experience. What people erroneously believe is that democracy is an meritoriously moral egalitarian unity. In fact, "minorities" very well know from literal irreproachable experience that this can be further from the truth. The true meaning of democracy as envisioned by the classical philosophers, is simply the "elite" of those who are the pedagogues and the demagogues of the "philospher kings" (to use Plato's terminology), and how "they" (there is always an ellusive "they" when the masses are sure of something being wrong but can't quite pinpoint who or what is causing it) govern large masses of people through a shared accepted collective ideology.
In this sense, true "Platonic democracy" (which "Western democracy" should be precisely called) can take on any socio-political manisfestation: "Western democracy" can be socialistic, communistic, totalitarian, egalitarian - whatever you want so long as the metaphysical state of population dynamics is not fundamentally taken out of practice; majority rule! Lets look at this another way to be thorough: how does a "majority" (think about who is the majority in the strictest sense of the political definition) in contradistinction to a "minority" intrinisically acquiesce equality? People don't seem to realize that (2) simply does not equal (1); meaning, that inequality is absolutely and incontrovertibly intrinsic to "democratic rule" of a mojority. The "just society" as Plato argued in The Republic (does this term ring a bell?), is a society that is simply that; just a society. It has no dynamic higher modalities of awareness to its people other than how people are supposed to function without getting in each other's way. This "maintenance ideology" is hidden within the argument of Platonic dialectics itself, and, its purposeful cause is to maintain the structure of those that govern under whatever conditions are called for by the "needs" of "the people." Satisfying those needs is not an egalitarian effort that embodies equality; it is simply a necessity, and, has nothing to do with morality or spirituality. In fact, human societal "needs" can be deliberately and specifically manufactured; meaning, that what is deemed necessary to "life and liberty" can be motivated or coerced into political existence through the rhetorical and persuasive tactics (propaganda) involving "popular consent."
