There is a brand new browser based MMORPG on the scene and it is breaking records for quickest uptake on a MMORPG (Browser Based).
The popularity of Evony Free Forever is not unfounded. Evony is a brilliant game. It is a Real Time Strategy game that sucks players in. Expanding from 1 servers to the now 33 servers the developers of Evony have had to continuously upgrade their servers to be able to cope with all of the role playing enthusiasts who are enjoying the masterful game of Evony.
With an average of 100,000 players online for each server the current 33 servers equates to over 3 million Evony Players worldwide!
RuneScape won a Guiness World Records entry by having the most players on a browser game, but Evony is set to smash the records as MMO gamers keep flocking to the game.

Free Forever?
Evony has always called itself "Free Forever". But is it really? What is the real cost of playing Evony Online? Is it more expensive than other MMORPGs like World of Warcraft or Travian?
One of the reasons why I ask if Evony is Free Forever is that they keep advertising! I keep seeing Evony "Save the Queen" or "Save your lover" or some other new advertising campaign by UMGE to promote Evony and drive more players to the game. If they are spending all this money on advertising, surely they'd have to be taking MORE than this money from the players of the online game. Not to mention wages and server upgrades.
Most of the players I know have not spent any money in Evony buying Evony Cents. But there is a minority out there who have spent $100 or more on this game to enhance their gaming experience. Evony Cents could be used to speed up production or research, or to buy spins on the magic wheel. This is gambling! You buy spins at a set amount, then spin the wheel to see what you can get. Most times it won't be worth the Evony cents you paid, other times it will be worth a lot more than what you paid, but it is a gamble, a risk! And if there is 5 people that I know who have paid over $100 on evony cents, then there must be hundreds or thousands of players I don't know who have spent money on it. And what scares me the most is that people might be spending more than $100. Are there people out there spending hundreds or thousands of US$ to buy thousands of Evony Cents?

UMGE must be making a lot of money from Evony. The Evony ad campagins are still raging on drawing more people into playing Evony. To cope with the demand UMGE has added more and more servers on. Now with a total of 32 servers with a possible player numbers of over 3 million.
The developers at UMGE have done an increadible job of creating an addictive game that online gamers want to play. With the Real Time Strategy component of waiting while a building is being built or while an attack is taking place. This has meant that players will be watching the time tick down on the buildings and waiting to come back to add another upgrade, or do another attack.
This game structure has made Evony available to play by professionals working full time, as they can play during their breaks, kick off another building or attack. And then go back to evony login during lunch to see how their attack went and make another.
This also helps UMGE get gamers paying money to play the game. Gamers that are frustrated with the long wait times for buildings can buy some Evony Cents to upgrade faster, or train troops faster, or buy the item they've been looking for so they can have more castles undeir their dominion. This is a great design for a MMORPG in this day and age. This has made Evony less of a kids game, and more into the realms of older players and women players too.
Not Free
It seems there are a few people out there that don't like the "Free Forever" part of Evony. Here is another one on weebly.
I still can't get over how much money the Evony game developers are making from the game as the ads are still out there, and in game they are pushing more and more for people to spend money. With incentives that if you spend $30 you get some big bonuses, but who wants to spend $30 on a free game?

The Evony developers are still trying to squeeze as much money out of players before they realise the game Evony does not have any substance.
They're doing this by sending players in-game mails telling what promotions they're putting on now. It sounds like a rug store to me. Ever seen a rug store that wasn't having a sale? I haven't. So they're putting on sales, and tricks to get players to spend their hard earned money on buying in-game items.
Evony are purposefully keeping the items hard to ge, like Michelangelo's Script. The hardest item to get in the game, it might have a random drop rate of 1 in 5,000 attacks. So to actually get enough to fully deck out even just 1 of your castles, would take more time spent in game than I'd care to imagine. So this is a beautiful bait to dangle in front of people in the hope they will open their wallets to buy some Evony cents to buy a Michelangelo's Script. Not me.
iEvony
Theres a new exclusive Evony game called iEvony. iEvony is by invite only. If you need an invite or have one to share go to the iEvony page on the Evony Free Forever site.
This new game inside Evony is invite only and has great ways of getting "free" evony cents. This is by inviting more people to join and other ways. Amazing in game rewards are promised, and as yet the developers at UMGE have not thought up what these rewards are going to be.
The fact that iEvony is a beta means that the Evony developers are going to use iEvony as a test server. It will test the latest patches before going out to the wide Evony community. This also means that there will be a lot of updates coming, both visual updates and arithmetic or fighting numbres updates. So whatever strategy you are using now could change very soon. The people on the iEvony servers will be the first to know about the upcoming changes, and will get an edge on the rest of the Evony community.

The pricing structure is a serious concern. As end game approaches, just taking the resources of a single city from level 9 to level 10 would cost you $370. And if you look at the "Buy Game Coins" drop-down, you can spend up to $3,000 in one hit. A few drinks too many, or a moment of madness with Mum's PayPal account could end up with a lot of tears. I see some big problems for UMGE in the future because of this rather unethical policy - but by then, will they have taken the money and run?
When it is "breaking down" most of the time it is just either:
1. That they are checking it
2. They are probably having difficultys supplying things for all 3million people who play the game
And yeah they advertise way to much.... but that doesn't matter it is fun!!!
I forgot to mention the ups and downs of Evony:
A, We can only build one thing at a time meaning we just surf the web for things to do
B, it's just addicting
The Evony Lag comes down simply to the UMGE developers not expecting this many players. Thats why they went from 3 servers when they switched from Civony to Evony and now theres 33 of them or something. They must be making some serious money to be spending so much on servers.
I am in the game and can't even start as the burnt orange page at the beginning just sits there with nothing at all on it. As well I have tried to find a log in page and it won't come up.

yah i would like to play but now it takes me 40mins to build just one house so it takes the fun out of the game and i get sick of building one house going away and coming back an hour later to do the next task.
i have 71k prestige BUT THE DAMN GAME IS LAGGY and plus u have to buy cents WHO WOULD BE STUPID ENOUGH TO BUY OVER 100$ or more in this internet game?!?!?!

I've seen LOTS of people saying iEvony was a game, or server. IT IS NOT. DOWNLOAD THE iEVONY CLIENT TO SEE FOR YOURSELF. It is ONLY to get credits by inviting people to join, and to be able to use iEvony you must get an activation code from someone who has already activated (they recieve 10, and each time a code is used it is replaced by a newly generated code.) Also I do agree. Using money on this game is a complete waste. They charge WAY to much for everything, and if I was in control of the prices, I would slash all the prices in half, and cut construction times in half. The game also has special packages, the only downside it you need to spend money to get them. I've also been wondering, how do you get the Cents Package?
I've been playing for two days and am addicted but I'm about to quit because the more you play the more time it takes to build stuff. I'm bored out of my mind waiting for things to build. Also, this paying real life dollars to buy video game cents is the most ridiculous concept I've ever heard of.
I love playing the game but the header always says anyone cheating will be banned from the game. The people who spend money have an unfair advantage and so the "Free Forever" part is bullsh!t and the paying people are cheating. Also the time spent waiting is crap! The people spending money should be booted because they ae CHEATERS!
I can play the game, but when I click on "Contact Us" or "Buy game Coins", nothing happens. Absolutely nothing. Does anyone have any thoughts?

Well I think Evony is an interesting experiment in games that seems to be making allot of money.
More and more we are seeing 'free' games been made with optional 'paid' add ons.
Some better games like this are 'Battle Field Heroes'(EA) and 'Quake Online'(iD (.. I think anyway))
Interesting development, but I think Evony might be over the line in terms of ethical standards in terms of payment options.
The game started fun and adicting, but the time spent waiting for it to proceed because I'm unwilling to shell out cash is a huge turn-off. The fundamental problem with real-time games is that something could happen! While I'm sleeping! While I'm working! and while this might seem an incentive to buy the game cents, the truth is that I'm geared to a $60 or so package that gets me a very consistent 60+ hours of enjoyment with no frunstration or delays. Heck, my brother bought me Team Fortress 2 for $60 and I'm still having loads of fun playing it a year later. The cost of playing evony with the same level of satisfaction and enjoyment for the same amount of time would be thousands of dollars. No thanks. It's not that addicting.
Evony is not free. It's a lie. The treat is in the famouses Michelangelo's script. You can't build anything over level 9 whitout this. It's not fair.
the free wheel spin gives you a chance at a miche script, i enjoy it, and guys when will you reaise this game isnt about how much time you play but how often you play, like single house wifes, do the dishes then build ur house, then hoover then upgrade ur farm, then iron, then upgrade ur barracs.... do you not see this? your not suppose to sit there watching the seconds go by.

why isn't it possible for me to log in ? i played evony for a few weeks now and today i can't log in anymore. Everytime i try to log in i get the evony map and the possibility to create another account! But i don't want to have another account ! And i still has 150 cent on my account. What do i have to do , to play furthe ?
can not log on either after playing game for about 3 weeks screen shows 49 per cent complete. and no phone number to call that sucks

The login problems and all the glitches makes this game sucks.
this game is pretty fun but i think runescape is alot better because you actually get to be a player and walk around and meet new people. Also there is alot of quests and stuff and its alot more funner cause you can kill giant mice and cows and people lol. =]

this game take far to long to build i had to wait 36hours for a hall to upgrade its not a game its a tamagochi type thing aslong as you up in everynow and again it fine but it is not a game
