You are not going to get tight and sexy legs ‘to die for’ doing nothing sitting on a couch with a dish antenna.

You have to kick butt and add compound exercise training methods to your routine. However, exercising for women is such a broad topic. Where should we begin? Well, lets start with dispelling two of the most common myths.

Weights

First of all, Lifting weights will not make look like a body builder!! Women simply don’t have the hormonal ability to become muscular no matter what sort of weight you lift.

Spot Reduction

Second, there is no such thing as spot reduction. Even though you really, really want to toned thighs and a round butt, doing zillian lunges and squats is not going to make them thinner faster. Fat comes off from all over your body. Your hips, butt and thighs will often be the last places to thin out. So be patient, watch what you eat, and it will come out eventually.

What to do?

If you are the kind of person who cheers for the underdog, add this tenacious brunette to your list of favourites. You have probably never heard of Monica Brant, and that’s okay, because your body is going to be looking like here a lot more. So kick butt and add these exercises to your lower body routine. Believe it or not, only muscle can change the shape of your body.


Stationary Lunge

Keeping your torso upright, plant one foot out in front, the heel of your back foot lifted. Think about this lunge as a one legged squat. Put most of your  weight on the front heel. Lower your body as far as you can without hitting your back knee to the floor. Now push up through your front heel to return to the start position, and repeat the movement for 12 repetitions before switching legs. Do at least two sets.

Dumbbell Squat

Few exercises shape the entire musculature of the thighs and gluttes as effectively as this one. With dumbbells at your shoulders and feet shoulder width apart, keeping your head up and a slight arch in your back, you slowly bend at the knees as you push your rear out until your thighs are parallel. Then move up again. Do at least two sets of 10 – 12 repetitions each.

Cardio Kickboxing

The latest aerobic craze cardio kickboxing work out is enjoying phenomenal popularity because it burns more calories than many other aerobic activities. 20 minutes of cat like maneuvers with kicks and footwork will give you the ultimate legs to die for.

Five steps for perfect posture

  • Stretch your shoulder blades. Pull them down away from your ears.
  • Lift your chest up and out
  • Pull your head back just enough to keep it in line with your spine.
  • Position your pelvis or hips to create or maintain a natural arch in your lower back
  • Pull your belly button in toward your spine without changing or tilting your hips or losing the arch in your lower back.

Ah, its a neverending battle! I wish I had enough time to do all the leg exercises I want to. Luckily I have pretty good genes go I don't have too much to worry about...yet. :)
