The Existence of God

The Ultimate Question
It is rather curious to me that there are actually living, thinking, even well educated humans who are quite uncertain about the existence of God and the significance of man. In fact, it is sometimes the well educated who seem to struggle most with all of creation and the nature of the Creator.
I will preface my remarks with an open, clear statement of my own position and beliefs. I am a Christian. Specifically, I hold to the biblical presentations by Christ and the apostles declaring that Christ offers everyone a personal relationship with God. All we have to do is accept His offer. It is my choice to believe there is a God, and to believe that He is a personal God who created life on Earth with the intent that we should come to know Him, interact with Him, and base our lives on this relationship. I prefer no label other than Christian. I do not align myself with a specific church or denomination other than the universal brotherhood that all Christians share. I have attended and been comfortable in various churches, and associated with a variety of Christian organizations. My Christian brothers and sisters are made up of people of all ages, ethnicities, cultures, income levels, education, and cultures.
However, the content of this article is not dependent upon my Christian faith. The reasoning presented here can be embraced by Christians, Jews, Muslims, and those of many other faiths or religious structures.
A Question Everyone Ponders Sometime
Every person must, at some time, consider the question of a supreme being who is the force behind all that we know of the universe. There are two possibilities. Either there is such a being, which in English we call God, or there is no such being.
If there is no creator who had a purpose in its design, then our existence (the existence of everything) has no particular meaning or value. Thus, from a personal perspective, there is no purpose or plan for our lives, individually or together. This conclusion means that anything that happens, or anything that anyone does, is no more or less good or bad, important or unimportant. The actions of a person such as Hitler are no more bad or good than the actions of a person like Mother Theresa. Without God, blowing up buildings or shooting up schools are not important events. Neither is an act of assistance or sacrifice. If there is a God, however, there is reason to see value and significance in the universe and in the existence of Earth and its inhabitants. This gives meaning and purpose, not only to the existence of the world and all it contains, but also to each of us individually. Families, friends, work, and achievements have value because God has designed us in a way that makes such things meaningful. Joy, fulfillment, and contentment become possible, and these things are intended to be a part of our existence.Looking at the question from a scientific perspective, without God there is no explanation for the tremendous complexity of everything, and to the order and balance of it all. Even if we could find a possible beginning point that would include the source material for both the organic and inorganic elements, it is a mathematical absurdity to think that what exists today could have developed on its own in some random chaotic manner. Pick any one of a million parts of all that exists. Let’s consider the eye of a fly. This one item is so marvelous and complex that its development cannot be explained by anything other than a highly intelligent, omnipotent designer/creator. This applies to millions more creatures from tiny bacteria to elephants. Plants, animals, the planets, the stars; they all show amazing, intricate design, not achievable by chance.
A Reasonable Answer
The answer that fits what we know exists is that there is a creator with a purpose and intelligence and power beyond our ability to comprehend. I look forward to your comments.

'On ya John! I'm with you on this topic. Keep up the good work in getting the Word out.
Hello John,
My education is firmly based in the sciences and mathematics and it has been quite helpful in my defense of God. Thank you for helping to let people know.

hi mr john juneau, i like your topic about the existence of God and also your own views. i learned more things how to depend my belief in God that He is trully exist. Im also a christian but not really much know about bible thats why sometimes its hard for me to depend my faith and to tell my friends about God. Sometimes, if they not really not convince i just tell them that salvation is not measure in our religions that we belong, its all about accepting christ to your heart, having strong faith with Him and following His purpose. I was also inspired to make a topic about God because of you. hope you could post many interesting topic so that many hubbers inspire also. may the Lord gives you wisdom and bless you. Ü
