Work your way out with a low budget

When one wants to travel around, the first thing that comes to mind is how I can save money, yet enjoy my trip. The best way to do this is to find a person living in the city where you want to travel to. Only the resident of that place could tell you the best on how you can save money and at the same time enjoy the best of your vacation.

From 2004 – 2009 Dubai, a small city in the United Arab Emirates, has attracted a lot of tourism by its impressive landmarks and landscaping. The tourist population keeps on increasing every year. Educated travelers know that Dubai is an expensive city and generally people with a middle class income face hard times on saving money. Keeping this in mind here are some few key guidelines.

Firstly, the best time to visit Dubai would be from November - April. During these months the climate is a lot cooler and is good to go out because the humidity is low. So once you select your travel date and decided how many days you would love to stay in Dubai, book your hotel through to internet with the help of this url http://www.hoteluae.com. This site customizes your requirements according to how you want a hotel. If you’re looking for a low cost and budgeted hotel in a strategic location, then I would recommend getting a hotel room in Bur Dubai. This is because Bur Dubai lies in the heart of Dubai and the fastest way to get to New Dubai where all the tourist spots are. This also would save you on transportation expenses. Almost all the hotels in Bur Dubai are well maintained and budget-friendly so I would once again recommend booking a hotel room in Bur Dubai. The lists of the hotels of your choice are given over the website.

After doing this, there are three things that people must not miss when in Dubai. Firstly is the “Big Bus tour over Dubai by one of the travel companies. Second, would be the “Desert Safari, a true adventure in the desert of Dubai where the Sand Dunes meets the sun. And lastly, is the “night life” of Dubai. Upon arrival in Dubai you either have a choice to catch a cab which starts from 25 Dhs ($ 8 approx) or a bus which is available from 10 Dhs ($ 2.5). I would recommend a cab which would reach you in about 20 minutes to the hotels any where in Bur Dubai. It is much safer this way.

So, on the first day catch the Big Bus tour company in Dubai. It is truly an awesome feeling to be in an open top bus as you can enjoy the fresh air and capture the best of the photo’s of Dubai. The Big Bus covers all the parts of Dubai which a tourist requires to see. This includes the major landmark, Burj Al Arab to the gold and spice souks. It covers traditional Dubai that includes the Dubai museum and heritage village as well as the modern Dubai including Dubai Marina and other parts. It would also take you for a ride on Sheikh Zayed road where you could see and capture the real estate development of Dubai with your camera. I call Dubai Marina the Miami of Dubai. The Dubai big bus is double Decker Bus operating with an open top. The cost of this tour around Dubai would cost an adult $ 60, $27 for children and $147 for family. I think this is quite reasonable. For more information on the Big Bus Dubai, you could visit http://www.bigbustours.com/eng/dubai

The next exciting destination to be at is the Wild Wadi water park. It is located in Jumeriah. It is about 20 minutes away from Bur Dubai, and you could enjoy a whole day at wild wadi which has about 30 water boast rides and attractions suited within the only themed amusement park in the UAE. When inside the WaterPark you can have the best view of the iconic hotel of Dubai (Burj Al Arab). The ticket cost for Wild Wadi comes nearly to about $70 - $80. You could visit this site for more information http://www.jumeirah.com/Hotels-and-Resorts/Wild-Wadi.You also do have another option to go to the Atlantis hotels water park, but it is quite far away. It is located on Palm Jumeriah.

Dubai is also known as the shopping capital. Dubai is a tax free land, and no taxes are charged on anything. When is comes to shopping, Dubai has world class malls with around more than 300 designer wears and brands. The best part is that you could find them located all in one Mall. However if your having limited money to spend for shopping in Dubai and would want to buy well known brand’s, then I would recommend anyone to visit city center mall in Deira which is opposite to Dubai Creek Club. The prices are quite economical in that mall. However you could also visit Mall of the emirates, Dubai mall (world’s largest shopping mall), Mall of the Emirates, Ibn Buttuta and Mercato Mall. However shopping in these malls is quite pricy. If you want to find clothes cheaper than this then, I would recommend anyone to shop through Karama shopping complex, Deira Market near Nassar Square or in Bur Dubai’s Meena Bazaar.

Dubai Safari is one of the best and most enjoyable experiences of Arab culture. These are memories that could share with anyone at home. Capturing the moments of true Arabian feeling, safari is a must of your schedule while visiting Dubai. Safari’s cost about $40 to $ 60 Visit http://www.desertsafaridubai.com/desert-safari-dubai.html . The following items are included in a desert safari trip:

- Pick up by 4x4 wheel Drive from any point in Dubai and Sharjah.
- Drive through the desert- Dune Bashing.
- 20-30 minutes Dune Driving
- Sun Set Photography
- Camel Rides
- Belly Dancing
- Bar
- Henna Painting
- Hubbllee Bubblee (shisha)
- Arabic Coffee (gahwa) and Fresh Dates
- Traditional costumes
- Unlimited soft drinks, tea coffee and mineral water
- Buffet Dinner and B.B.Q.(vegetarian food also available on request)
- Departure at 9.30 pm

Dubai Night life has changed over the years. It has yet indeed been getting more and hotter with the influx of international crowd in Dubai. There are about more than 160 nationalities living and working in Dubai. Dubai is a cosmopolitan city. The best clubs I would recommend would be the Sanctuary and the Atlantis hotel in Palm Jumeriah, Club 400 for techno, house, electro music and Chi lounge for Hip hop and RnB. The entrance cost for these club vary from 20 dollars to 35 dollars. However its will be a hell of an experience. Dress code applies. All clubs in Dubai are 21+ and only accept government ID only. Ladies enter free before 12am. You can check www.timeoutdubai.com for more information on bars and clubs.

Apart from the above I would like to inform you all reading this with a few more money saving nuggets and they are as follows:

  1. In Dubai at places where you shop where there are no price tags, such as Karama Complex, Bur Dubai and Deira markets, you can bargain and drop the prices down to even 30 to 40 Dhs as tourist. For example if the seller is charging you 70 DHS, keep in mind that you want to only pay 55 DHS for that. So tell him that you would pay DHS 45 and then see what if has to say. The probability is that he would drop the price to 65 DHS. Then you demand a little lower price than what he asked by saying ok 50 DHS. The probability would be that he would disagree. Then you say alright the last I would pay would be 55 DHS. And if he disagrees then just walk out of the shop slowly. Seeing that he would call you back and would agree the price with you.
  1. Eating is good in Dubai is good and a little cheaper if eaten outside. Generally if you would want to eat at places such as Malls, Hotels, It would cost a lot because businesses in Dubai have to pay a lot in rent. So in order to covers it costs it charges a high amount. So the best idea for you would be to eat outside at restaurant located in Karama, Bur Dubai or Deira. Over here the food is not that expensive compared to the Malls.
  1. When traveling in Dubai or going into different states within the Country, the road and transportation Authority provides excellent transportation system which links one place to the other. Also and exciting news for every body is that Dubai Metro would begin its operation of its red line on September 9, 2009. It would cost 3 times cheaper than a taxi. So if you have to go anywhere by the Dubai Marina area, I suggest using the metro. This would also give you a small tour over the metro. Dubai has also started its water Taxi system which connects Dubai from one side to the other. So incase if you need to go to Deira to shop and you live in the Bur Dubai area, then simply catch this water taxi from the Bank of Baroda end and it would take you to Deira for DHS 4, while if you had to take a taxi it would cost you 20 DHS. The water taxis are air conditioned and new. You can come back the same way.

You would be able to have a blessed holiday in Dubai for a week and enjoy the best of your trip with the above information that I have provided. If you would love to have the best of your vacation at a even lower cost then see how you could make a friend living in Dubai who could show you around. This would definitely reduce your big bus tour expenses more over it could reduce staying, eating out and well as other expenses. Also see how you could win coupons over the internet for discounts in Dubai. This would drastically help cut expenses yet enjoy the best your can. A great holiday is a combination of fun, adventure and culture.

Have a great trip in Dubai !!!!!
