Extreme Cat Urine

Some cats are just naughty little boys or girls! I love’em to my gut but sometimes I can’t stand those rascals! A friend of mine and I once came up with a funny theory that cats have their own X Games just like we do but instead of biking, skateboarding, etc… they have extreme cat scratch’n, meow’n and hissin’. It would seem that cats compete with each other in every one of these disciplines, but the one that they really put all their effort into is extreme cat urine! Wouldn’t you think so?

Although I adore each and every cat and all their hard-to-bear-with habits, I think that the hardest one to deal with is serious cat urine. There used to be a time when every time I got to my house, just wanting to find my beautiful Minty and pick her up for hugging time, I would smell a horrible cat urine odor. Although it didn’t change the fact that I still wanted to find my beautiful Minty, it did change the purpose from hugging to yelling and scolding her. My poor baby.

I was Going Crazy

The odors of cat urine were starting to affect me so I desperately looked for answers of why cats have urine with such an odor. These are some of the reasons I came across with as to why some cats can start to urinate around the house with no apparent reason:

- The litter box is in a highly transited area of the house. Cats like their privacy and we should respect that, if not then they will find a secluded area to deposit their smelly cat urine.

- They feel threatened by an unknown person or animal. If you bring another pet to the house… be it a dog, bird, rabbit, etc… most cats will sense that their territory is being breached and they’ll feel the necessity to mark their area, leaving a stench of extreme cat urine on the way. This also happens if you bring over a friend and your cat simply doesn’t like him or her (this has happened more than once with my Crescent).

- Infections. Some cats may develop a urinary infection because of neglected care. You must schedule an appointment as soon as possible with the vet in order to prevent this from developing into a more serious matter.

Those three are some of the more simple reasons as to why your lovable pet can “participate in the Feline X Games” at extreme cat urine. Nonetheless, you have to know that there is a normal cat urine spray. This is a completely standard phase in a cat’s life; however it shouldn’t last long if you train your cat enough.
