Eye donation

As I have already told to all of you that Eyes are the best gift of God {nature} to the body. One is not even aware of their importance as long as the vision is perfect.

Great importance is given on our eyes and vision. In fact it has been noted that of the five senses, sight is the one people fear losing the most.

Our eyes are really the windows through which we view the world around us.

But everyone is not lucky as we are.

We are one of the fastest growing economies in the world today; ironically, we also shoulder one of the largest populations of the visually impaired. There are almost 52 million visually impaired people and 270,000 blind children in India. That's almost one-fourth the world's blind population living in India.

Why donate eyes?

Why donate eyes?

To begin with for a selfish reason; our eyes can live even after our death.

Secondly, more importantly, we can light the life of two blind people by donating our eyes after our death.

Thirdly, not to mention, eye donation is the noblest of all causes.

Some Facts About Donation

Eye donation provides people who are blind with an opportunity to regain their vision through corneal transplantation, research and teaching.

The need for donated eyes far exceeds the availability of donations. People are waiting, hoping and praying for just such a gift.

More than 46,000 corneal transplants are performed every year, and the overall success rate of the procedure is 90 percent...meaning your generosity has an impact that is positive and lasting.

Donation is a selfless act supported by all major religions.

Only after every attempt to save your life has been made will the issue of donation arise. Your family will be asked if you have expressed a desire to participate in organ, tissue and eye donation.

There is no cost to the family.

A decision to become a donor will ultimately change someone's life. This gift will be treasured and appreciated for years to come.

my thinking..............

I'm sure I will get your complete and full-hearted support in this noble cause. Become a sight ambassador and help us spread the gift of sight.
