FDA Approved Eyelash Growth Drug
65From Short Lashes to Long Eyelashes
Finding the right solution.
You have probably seen a lot of beauty product ads that describe how to get long, beautiful eye lashes. Well, most of those ads pertain to mascara. The thing about mascara is that it doesn't really lengthen your eyelashes. All the mascara does is add gunk to your eyelashes to trick people into thinking your lashes are longer than they really are. Once you wipe off that mascara, there goes your lengthened lashes. The FDA recently approved a new drug that actually does lengthen lashes, it is called Latisse.
The Origins of Latisse
Latisse is an eye lash lengthener that was developed in an interesting way. Glaucoma patients were given eye drop medication to help them with their illness, the drug was called Lumigen. The unusual thing was that all the glaucoma patients that used the same eye drop medicine, began to grow impressively long eye lashes. The doctors became curious and a few decided to narrow in on the factor that caused the patient's lashes to get so long. It wasn't long before they found that a certain chemical, that isn't harmful to humans and their eyes, was causing the glaucoma patients eye lashes to grow impressively long.
These scientists contained the solution and it is now being sold under the name Latisse.
Latisse
Latisse is FDA approved. It is such a new approval that many people don't even know about it yet. The solution does work. A few examples are to look at glaucoma patients and notice their eye lashes. Another way to find out if it works is to simply try it. The only way to currently get Latisse is through a doctor's prescription. Since it is a medication, it should be treated as such. Be sure to consult your doctor if you would like to try out Latisse for yourself.
Taking Care of Your Eye Lashes
By repeatedly taking Latisse, you are sure to see positive results. According to the company, later approved by the FDA, you should see your eye lash length increase by about 25%. If you are not happy with your current eye lash length, try out Latisse. Beauty is in the eye of th beholder and in this case, that beauty would be on your eye.
