FRS Healthy Energy Complaint

FRS healthy energy is a scam!

FRS Healthy Energy drink offers a "free trial" of their product with a simple $6 dollar shipping cost. Lance Armstrong has endorsed this product and FRS has successfully tied in the perception that you too can have an enlarged heart and hone in the energy of 10 men with their product. Somehow I paid the $6 dollars and had this "free trial" sent to my house. I tried it and was genuinely surprised how it didn't taste like cow feed mixed with and chalk but it had more of a smooth mango kind of a flavor. Unfortunately it didn't give me any burst of energy or do anything for me athletically.

To my surprise, about a month later I find another large FRS box by my mail box. The invoice on the inside of the box had no total of charges, an explanation why it was sent or even contact information to Customer Service.

After locating FRS customer service number online, I had the pleasure of receiving absolutely poor customer service skills and a plethora of uninformative information. In fact, the customer service laughed at me when I discovered such things as receiving a $64 dollar charge for the box I just received. She continued to laugh when I said I didn't agree with any of this and how I felt FRS is shady for not making this charge obvious upon accepting their "free trial". She was then proud to announce that I would not be refunded shipping costs on this box I had just received. When I said I would be sending it as "return to sender" the customer service rep told me that the FRS warehouse would simply return it to my address as they do not accept this form of return. So after you pay for shipment, insurance and tracking this package you didn't order, it takes four weeks to receive a refund minus the amount that you spent on shipping it to you and back to them! Plus I wasn't told but I discovered (after speaking to a supervisor) that an approved return number had to be put on the outside of the box in order to receive a refund.

Lance Armstrong, you should be ashamed for endorsing this product. It is overpriced, it doesn't work, and the company scams you out of money by including fine print on the "autoship" written just beneath a giant button that says "TRY IT FREE". I'm sure they are reliant on the fact that people are not going to follow their specific cancellation or return guidelines and they will make millions scamming people.

Even if you pay $6 shipping to receive their "free trial" and drink their fruity drink full of nothingness, you wouldn't be able to afford it unless your name is actually Lance Armstrong. Although, why does he need to worry about an energy drink with a heart that is 30% larger than the average human?

FRS is a scam. Don't get sucked in.

More FRS SCAM. I can top suphg's experience. After cancelling the product, I received yet another $65 box. I called Customer "Service" and asked why it was sent. They told me that, yes, it was a mistake, but I would have to pay for shipping back to them anyway. My next call is to the California Attorney General's Office.

I ordered the trial and didn't like the product. Luckily I saved the disclaimer text during the checkout process. Here it is:

Click the “place order” button to the right to start your 14 day free trial of the FRS Healthy Energy System. You pay only for shipping and handling and have no obligation to buy anything as long as you call to cancel before the end of the 14 day trial period. If you do not call us at 1 888 377-7587 to cancel within 14 days of receiving your free trial you will be automatically enrolled in the FRS Healthy Energy System Club. As a Club member you will be sent a one month supply, which includes two servings of FRS per day, every month and will be charged the highly discounted rate of $64.95- that’s a 58% discount off of the price of buying a month’s supply of canned FRS in the store and shipping is free. You also get a 10% discount and free shipping on all FRS purchases at www.frs.com. As a Club member you’re free to cancel at any time at least one full business day before shipment with no penalty and you’re also free to change the products, flavors, and timing of your orders. Changing your order may change the monthly cost.

It will help to make a complaint to the Federal Trade Commission. I am furious with these people. More than that--I'm disappointed in Lance Armstrong for supporting such a rip off.

By the way, I witnessed the research on quercetin. It is good. However, YOU CAN BUY QUERCETIN FROM HEALTH FOOD SOURCES AND IT'S VERY CHEAP! This FRS system is a complete scam.

9/15/08 My 14 trial days are up and both contact numbers from the FRS website go to a recorded operator message; "If youd like to make a call please hang up and dial again..." Have you EVER called a legitimate business and got that? NEVER! I cannot cancel and was just billed for the first $65 shipment. What kinda crap deal is that???

I like the chews. They really pick me up mentally. Not phisically that I can see, but when I'm working at my computer and eat a FRS chew, I feel pretty alert and 'sharp' not long after.

I've had good customer service too. I haven't tried to cancell everything, but have been getting my product for over 6-months now and really have no complaints.

BUT! I read above that the secret ingredient is available cheaper from health food sources. If I can find it cheaper I will cancell my FRS auto ship and buy QUERCETIN locally.

I said I would not accept the box. they said that if I would keep this first box FRS would ony Charge me half of 50% off and cancel my furture orders.

FRS charged My Citi Card the full $64.00. I working to correct this now.

I received my box and READ the letter enclosed which said that it was a 14 day trial and I would be shipped more if I did not call the number they provided and discontinue the deal. It also said that when I signed up for my sample. I called to discontinue the product and got a lady who was most curtious. She handled it with no pressure. To many of you only saw the word FREE and did not read the NO SO fine print. This company is A-OK. You just have to read the deal.

Thanks for the info Jason 1007. I was also put on auto ship. I have learned my lesson on ordering items like vitamins, makeup, etc. I just had a bad experience with AcaiPure also!!!!! I ordered a Risk Free trail bottle. When it came in the mail there were 2 other items in the package with the bottle of Acai. The RISK FREE TRAIL turned out to be a scam!!! I was on auto ship and received an invoice of $44.85. One of the items in the package was a pack of Acai gum that they charged me $10.00 for. I called the company and the message said it would be at least a 77 min. hold. I decided I would hold. It turned out to be 1 hour and 30 some minutes that I held. They told me they would take me off of auto ship, but they will charge me a 15% restocking fee, plus shipping(pretty sad....I never ordered the extra products). I sent all back...even the trail bottle.

Ditto for me on this product. It's a soft scam. it's within letter of law but pushes the perimeters of law to take advantage of customer. In these hard economic times there's probably going to be a lot more of this type of scam. At customer service they seemed fairly affable about canceling. Maybe.

I don't know if I would call it a scam. The product may not be good, but if I would have taken the time to read the fine print, I wouldn't have gotten the $65 pack. Ok, wow. I agree with the person who said: IF YOU READ THE FINE PRINT YOU WONT GET SCAMMED. How naive can you be? Did you really think they were going to give you something for nothing? Of course they would enroll you in their program. And it clearly says (if you pay attention when giving your credit card info especially!!!!!!) that after the trail you're enrolled in their program, unless you cancel. So don't call it a scam. It's just you not paying attention.

Ninja740  says:

You're all idiots. If you had read the discliamer that they provided for you at the time of purchase you would have known that you needed to call and cancel you subscription. I tried the 14-day free trial and didn't love or hate the product I just didn't want to be charged monthly. So, I called and cancelled and the person that took my call was helpful, although did try to sell me on some of their other plans, but I was on and off the phone with them in a matter of minutes and have had nothing come in the mail or show up on my balance sheet since. If anyone is to blame for you being charged it's YOU! You should have taken the time and responsibility to read about what you were getting yourself into before you checked "I agree" and gave them YOUR credit card information. Take a little responsibility for yourself. The only one to blame here is you for being an ignorant dope.

Carrie  says:

Customer service canceled my membership no problem. With the first $64 shipment I received, they offered me to send it back and get a refund (minus the shipping costs), or keep the product and they would refund me 35%.

When signing up for the free trial, I felt they were clear that it was an automatic enrollment into a monthly shipment. Many other "free trial" offers are clearly deceptive, but I think you only have yourself to blame for not reading the full offer details. You probably clicked "I agree to the terms" without even really reading the terms, right? Now you're learned your lesson.

Guy Cabellero  says:

You can't really complain about the free trial/$64 dollar shipment thingy since it is detailed in the website's FAQ. Honestly, if you're signing up for something 'free' you are a complete dupe if you don't read the small print. HOWEVER, I was aware of how the system worked but they have several things going on that left me feeling taken as well.

Being aware of the small print, I did want to try the product further than the 14 day allotment given in the free trial since I was feeling like maybe there was more to this product. I also wanted to get in before the 14 day trial period ended so I could select the items they shipped to me. I went back to the frs.com, logged in with the username and password given to me on the receipt page of my original trial order and selected several items, trying out the various forms of chews, liquid and powdered mix. All fine and good but this method would actually have cost more than the $64 that the original FAQ suggested the cost would be except for this particular order came out to less because of a 'first time shipment discount.' I was now already uneasy with the company's practises if the bills were going to be more than what their original FAQ suggested if other discounts weren't applied.

I received my order, but then ANOTHER order of different stuff came within the same week. What they don't have ANY information about on their trial site is that FRS.com and Healthyenergy.com are somehow blissfully unaware of the other even though it is the same company. So even though I used the username and password given to me, they didn't recognize the order I made on one site, and the end of the trial offer and auto-shipment of the other. This is a very confusing setup and certainly destined to piss off a lot of customers, such as myself.

When I called in to voice my irritation the customer service guy was suggesting this was my fault since the email sent when I ordered the trial would have outlined the necessity to go to the other website. All fine and good, but there was NO E-MAIL! I used a gmail account and as you know that holds a lot of emails and I went back in fine detail through all the mailings back to the date of my original order and there was no e-mail sent with the required information. The customer service guy was kind of unapologetic but I figured the only way out of this was to suspend auto-shipments for a month so I wouldn't have excess product. Of course this was satisfactory to him and he said he had set it up so on the computer.

What happened immediately after, though, totally soured me on the whole company. He went into this used-car salesman-like routine about how I could pay for a half-year's worth of product at these amazing savings. There's a recession on and I'm trying to stay within budget and I said paying up front wasn't really an option because I just wouldn't have the money to do so. This guy actually gives me this condescending and snarky attitude about me not being able to afford a couple-hundred bucks a month up front. As soon as he took on this attitude I just thought in my mind, "Your company is so gone from my future picture, buddy!"

As for the product itself? I did get some effect during the trial and as I said, went on to use it for a little while longer. I can't say whether what happened was because of this product or some other ailment, but I began developing lower abdominal pains and problems with my urinary tract which have been going on for a few weeks but subsiding after discontinued use of the FRS stuff. So I have this assortment of things from the dual order which I will never use because I'm not so sure that the stuff is actually trying to screw up my innards even though there was a mild energy effect.

I really don't recommend signing up until you've tried the product through GNC to see what it does for you. Then when you do, make sure you get the website situation in your radar so you don't end up with double shipments. And be prepared for the sales spiels everytime you have contact with a service rep. Overall, though, I just recommend switching to 100% fruit juice and making sure you eat all your veg. Probably healthier and a lot cheaper.

Guy Cabellero Again  says:

I guess it stands to mention, in addition the other situations I had with FRS company, when I phoned the day after my experience with the phone rep that looked down his nose at me because of my monetary situation, I phoned the next day after thinking about it to cancel and talked to a female rep. She stonewalled me when I said I wanted to cancel, instead trying to get me to take up all these offers for such and such percentage off and I kept saying I wanted to cancel. When she finally said she would do the cancellation I asked her a few times whether I would receive a confirmation e-mail saying that the shipments had indeed been canceled and she assured me that an e-mail confirmation would be sent. A few weeks have passed and no confirmation e-mail was sent. I will keep you appraised of whether or not the delayed shipments come again against my intentions sent to the company.

Gary  says:

FRS is not a scam because you do not read the terms and conditions of the free trial. A lot of companies do this. Yes it generates more revenue by catching some people who do not pay attention. It caught me. When I called they politely offered me 30% the additional product they had shipped me. Besides the stuff works. If it did not contain what it said it did or they never shipped the product, THAT would be a scam. You people are nuts. Grow up already.

Guy Cabellero  says:

Gary, I think the people posting here are grownups and some may be naive, but certainly not nuts...you sound like the phone rep that got me PO'd with this company with your condescension. I certainly have lowered sympathy for people that didn't read the fine print, especially for something offered over the internet, but even knowing that fine print I still feel very wary over what I experienced with this company.

My suggestions to people reading this forum: Try the product via GNC and see if there is even any effect for you, or no negative ones such as I experienced. If you find it is useful, be aware of the time trial/auto ship situation, be aware of the FRS.com and healthyenergy.com situation and the company's reticence to send out confirmation e-mails.

Some people are going to find positive effect from the product, but as some here have alluded to, the main zing from FRS is the quercetin and it is something you can find at other stores for a lot less than $65/ month and you won't have the caffeine 'boost' (albeit small) to contend with, as FRS contains it.

And for you people that aren't grown-up or are nuts...why is your mommy/caregiver letting you use the computer and credit card by yourself anyway?

I tried the "Free" trial, too. FRS is a great product, but I knew I wouldn't use as much of it as they wanted to ship, so I cancelled future 'automatic' payments. Customer service was very nice, & I never rec'd another shipment.

Want to use it & not pay a fortune? I get mine from iherb - 32 oz of concentrate goes for $18.99

rob22  says:

The whole experience has been quite painless for me. Much like kwise, I tried the product and called to cancel within my trial period. After I asked a couple of questions about why I shouldn't buy it retail, they told me they would give me an extension of another month or something for free, and I took it. I just called to cancel today after the extension and I haven't yet been charged beyond the initial $7 I paid. Slightly sneaky, but my own experiences don't warrant calling any kind of regulatory body whatsoever. This talk about the atty. general cracks me up--you would need to call a lawyer, whicis guaranteed to cost you more than $64.

As for the product, it tastes decent (although the powder needs to be mixed thoroughly otherwise it can taste bad) and has a bunch of vitamins (and quercetin) that you could get from other supplements. My (moderately educated) guess is that caffeine is the main reason for its athletic performance benefits and increases in focus/alertness. Also, it has no high-fructose corn syrup and less caffeine than other energy drinks out there. We get too much fructose in our diets on average, and too much caffeine can dehydrate you. Therefore, it's not revolutionary, but it could be a convenient (and generally good-tasting) way to get a little more energy and be more active. For me, the main reason I'm not paying $64/month is that I don't go through as much of the stuff as they send in a month's package. If I continue to use it after I run out of the stuff I have, I'm going to buy it retail (no shipping), or possibly order smaller packages from them. if you are ordering from them, make sure you can milk some sort of discount out of them, as long as you have a long enough memory to remember to opt out of any further trials. This only a scam for people who think getting charged high interest rates when they don't pay their credit cards is a scam. It's a douchey thing for them to do, but it is something easily predictable. Their profits are driven by your irresponsibility. Kinda like those subprime mortgages...

Alex  says:

If you would have read the 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper that came in the trial box, it specifically explained that you would be charged each month. It is not a scam, but rather a selling strategy. Just call the number on the sheet of paper (like I did) and you will be fine.

Shadowcat  says:

Maybe they've updated their website but I found the info clear & the terms well stated. also the telephone number was noted in several places including the terms & conditions.

Here's my 2-cents from my experience with "free trials". I have tried several - they can be a great way to try new things & actually get a lot of products for next to nothing but you have to be vigilant & keep on top of return deadlines!

FIRST - read all the info on the site especially info regarding terms & trial period. Regarding returns: do you have to call, email, need an RMA, use teh original packaging, etc? Most packages have a tracking number so they can confirm date of delivery & that's normally when the trial pd begins. NEXT, PRINT OUT ALL PERTINENT INFO OFF THE WEBSITE including info on the product, their "terms & conditions" (you may have to click on a link located on the bottom of the page or elsewhere), the order form (completed but before you hit purchase or continue) & then the confirmation. NEXT: once you receive the product, check any paperwork that comes with it to confirm it says the same info as the web site (I've had them different, including tele numbers & terms). DON'T THROW ANY PAPERWORK AWAY! Put a sticky note somewhere noticeable with your return date deadline - Err on the side of caution and pick a few days early. LASTLY, when you call & get the RMA number, write down the date, time & whom you spoke to. You can often follow up with an email just for some more backup. Then pack up & return to them. If you print 1st class postage online you will have a tracking number to confirm when they received it.

If you end up having problems & miss the deadline all is not necessarily lost. I had this happen to me & I returned the product anyway ( a few days late). They did not reject it so I disputed the charge on my credit card & won.

Companies bank on the majority of folks missing the deadlines or forgetting to cancel but these free trials can be awesome & one can get quite a collection of almost free products. Just be sure to know the rules & get the items returned in time.

Jules  says:

Here is the scoop on this scam, and similar scams. They operate just within the boundary of the law – barely, mostly breaking it but hard to prove.

This company runs a scam called "Negative Option Marketing." There are dozens of them out right now. Anything you order on line with a "free trial" and only paying shipping and handling - read the fine print. The fine print (you'll barely see it if you're lucky) states by getting the free trial you're locked into a contract for a year or so, with usually $50 - $100 per month of products being shipped to you. Then they make it nearly impossible to opt out of. Since they have your credit card number from the "free trial" shipping charge, they will keep charging you. They won’t accept return shipments. They hang up and put you on hold.

The BEST way to protect yourself if you've been scammed like this is to ask your credit card company to send you another card with a new number, and cancel the old number (it will be your same credit card account and credit history, just a new number.) Then at least while you fight the original charges, they cannot continue the monthly shipments to you.

Now each scam company is different. Some make it a contract, others say you have until 30 days to cancel, etc. What they all have in common is they try everything to stop you from canceling. Even if you inadvertently signed up for a “contract” don’t feel obligated – they tricked you and scammed you and these companies have been fined over and over again. They are wrong, you were misled.

These newer negative option marketing scams are everywhere on website ads for “Acai berry weight loss” or “Mandy’s dieting blog” “Cut belly fat with this 1 rule!“ or “Tooth whitening secrets exposed!“ or “I cured my wrinkles!“ These sites pose as fake “real average people” with a blog about this great weight loss secret they’ve uncovered. Now, sites like that have been around a while so the new scam is that this average person has discovered a “dynamic duo” of two products that on their own do little, but together make you drop 7 pounds a week, have glowing white teeth, cure cancer, etc., etc. Then they say you can try their two products free, through this great site they tried themselves (the same damn site whose copywriters wrote the fake blog) just click the link for your FREE TRIAL! You only have to pay shipping and handling! Well that $5 shipping and handling charge, once they have your credit card number, is now an $80 a month “contract” you didn’t realize you signed. You’re stuck with acai berries up the wazoo for a year.

My husband order from FRS a month ago. They charged us almost immediately, but didn't ship the "FREE TRIAL" for 4 weeks. Four days later they shipped the regular monthly stuff. The "free" isn't here yet - it is being sent by FedEx/USPS to HI, which means it is probably on a slow boat to here. However, the regular shipment was shipped UPS ground to HI from CA which only takes about 3 days and it will be here this afternoon.

I was livid when I was finally able to log in to my husband's acct and check the shipments. Custormer service was okay, they did cancel our shipments/acct given that they messed up on the initial shipment and that I should not have to pay for a product that I may not even like. They did not ask me to return the product, and I"m not really sure what I'm going to do - maybe I'll just refuse delivery!

Yes, it seems a bit of a scam, especially when they mess up your order, don't contact you and then kick in the auto-ship. Hopefully, the refund process will be less pain than the ordering was!

Notice the original post is from almost a year ago. FRS has changed the way they advertise this product because of all the people they screwed over complaining about it. It was extremely shady and wrong how they began this campaign as you can see from all of the complaints. Plus since you didn't have to deal with customer service and bought the crap in the store you didn't get the pleasure of dealing with the low lifes they hired.

No I did not buy in a storre, I bought from the web site and I have an account. It's the same price as GNC though.

At a certain point we all learn that any "free trial" offer comes with an automatic monthly shipment, unless you cancel within a certain amount of time. Always read the details.

I've been using the FRS chews for a month and am happy with them. I get mine from online sources, so far Drugstore.com and Amazon have had good prices. Half of the price offered on the official website. They're too expensive, even with their 50% off deal.

My trial shipment has not even arrived yet and I am on day 11 of this 'trial'! I emailed to cancel everything - I hope I get a response!

Disgraceful.

I love FRS energy drinks. Especially the lemon-lime flavor. I feel refreshed and energized after drinking one, unlike the other options such as Rockstar and Moster which I find absolutely disgusting and give me a horrible sugar crash.

Perhpas you should read the fine print when order "free" samples. There is almost always a catch. I wouldn't say FRS is a scam. The prices seem about on par with competitor products. Plus, like the second post said up there, you needed to pay attention and cancel after 14 days. This is true for just about any "free" sample I have seen for any product.

scam is one of many  says:

I have seen a lot of these scams lately. My attorny says that if you have to search (as in this case 3 screens below the order form) to find or read between the lines to understand the "terms and conditions", it is not a legally binding contract. Also, your obligations should be spelled out in the contract (the order confirmation in most cases). They get away with this because the amount of money is too small to justify taking them to court. You might consider a legal advocacy organization or taking them to small claims court.

Wow, I was getting the product for 6 months and felt energized, not like a double espresso but good results. I stopped my order due to the fact I could not consume as much as they were sending, the orders stopped immediatley as did the charges on my card. I would not consider any of my experience a scam.

I tried it and canceled within 14 days. I hope they don't send another one... However I am more worried about two new happenings, first someone used my credit card online so I had to cancel it and get a new card number, second, this 888-584-0883 is calling me several times already saying that I signed up for Acai Berry Weight Loss program(?)... When I asked them detailed info about them, they just hung up on me in very rude ways... only connection I can make is this FRS product... What a headache!!! I will never sign up for this kind of online free trial thing.

Read the webpage, and the info in your package. This is NOT a scam! Just when things do not go YOUR way, you figure you have to scream at people. Calling the CSR's of FRS will result in the cancellation of the autoshipments AND refund of your order that was last shipped.

If you are dumb enough to fucking not look at all of these then don't use the internet, or read anything period.

I also tried FRs through their free trial package, but I knew exactly what I was getting into. IOW, I knew once I received the trial package (which arrived very quickly) that I would have to cancel within 14-days or the monthly shipments would begin to arrive. How did I know that? Duh -- I actually read the free trial offer. So IMO there is only one person to blame for being "scammed" by FRS -- the person who ordered the trial package without reading and understanding what they were getting.

As for me, I've been using FRS products for 6+ months and I believe that the quercetin contained in the drinks do combat fatique and aid my natural adrenaline reserves. I can tell when I go out on a 30+ mile bike ride that it helps. I can maintain my pace longer and I have more in the tank during the last 5 miles than I used to. That's my $.02!

The people at FRS are morons, plain and simple. When I called to cancel my order - the guy babbled something about putting my account on hold to lock me into the price - never once mentioning that he would automatically start shipments again in 3 months. When that happened I called the day of to have it stopped. They put in a stop shipment request supposedly. 3 days later I still saw the charge on my account so I called back. They told me it went through and I would have to pay to ship it back to them. What's worse is this entire time I told them I called in February to stop shipments due to the loss of my job. So at the time I just finished paying bills and not expecting any charges - I keep all my money in my savings to accrue every penny of interest I can. So they put me negative and cost me $35!!! So they want me to eat that and pay shipping back to them for never authorizing or being told about another shipment. That's when I informed him I would be disputing the charge with my bank. He told me I couldn't because they had the authorization number. Are they really that stupid??? If I were to walk in there - slap the man for the scam artists they are - and go make a $1500 purchase with it, according to his logic he couldn't dispute the charge because the company I would have made the purchase had an authorization number. What a moron!!!!

I have disputed the charge with my bank and refused the shipment when it arrived at my home. My bank has assured me they will be investigating this and working to get me my money back.

A brief report, not on the product, but on the sales strategy. I accepted the "free trial" not knowing I had signed up for recurring monthly shipments. After seeing the surprise on my credit card, and after receiving no shipments, I called FRS, which has agreed to refund me in full. So, they appear to be learning from the "scam" accusations.

mcjeffery  says:

Where's the "scam?'' You have to cancel your order cycle within 14 days of receiving your free sample... how hard is that? FRS is a pretty good product if you're sticking witht he low cal products.

Not many people are going to warrant a $64 shipment each month, but if you're smart enough and can figure it out, you can make every monthly shipment as small or large as you want. Hence, you don't have to pay $64 a month, you can just buy a smaller amount and get billed for what you want, as long as you at least buy one product during each cycle. Either way, you're getting if for 50% off compared to what you're going to get canceling your cycle and then going back and buying a couple shipments on your own.

My advice, if your stupid enough to honestly believe you got scamed, or somehow let yourself get scamed by FRS, you either can't read a Web page, a piece of paper, or your bank account, and you probably aren't responsible enough to run your own finances. I find it hilarious that people are coming on this blog screaming "SCAM" at the top of their lungs because it's really just showing how dumb they are.

stop with the "stupid" comments  says:

Please note when this post was made originally. FRS changed their ways because of responses such as these. It was a shady and back-stabbing way of roping people in...since, they have made it more obvious.

Believe me you are not a genius for saying "read stuff"...it originally was not posted and it was a scam.

Brandon  says:

I cannot comment on the difficulties people have had in stopping the automatic deliveries as I have not signed up for them. However, I do notice a definite boost in both energy and mental focus/sharpness (I've tried only the chews). I find them far superior to any of the "energy" drinks that offer primarily loads of sugar and caffeine. Also, the is no follow up sugar crash from these products as there is from many other "energy" supplements.

Regarding subsequent shipments to the "free trial..." Come on people. Don't blame or disparage the company of you don't bother reading what is right in front of you... The language is COMPLETELY CLEAR!

I ordered off the buy one get one free promo and got one box each of the powdered drinks. The only problem I had is they actually billed me for the full price. So I called and complained - and they fixed it immediately. I didn't click the autoship option - just chose single orders at a time, so re-billing has not been a problem. To boot I found out that it was MY mistake after all that they billed me for the whole price: I failed to click the promo off the coupon, instead went straight to the site.

I love the powdered mix. I put it in my water jug, and drink a couple times a day. At first I didn't think it did much. But about a month into it I do feel different: I don't tire as easy, and I have more stamina & staying power for whatever I'm doing. It is a lot better than the Monster drinks and such - those mad me feel horrible, and gave me side pains my wife said was kidney pains.

I'm so pleased I'm placing another order..

Adam 12  says:

I am glad I had a chance to read all your postings, as I was about to place an order. If it doesn't do what it says its supposed to do, there is no point in buying it. I am surprised Lance would involve himself with a product that has little to no affect. I'm sure he got paid very well to endorse the product. Lance may not even be able to do anything about it. Considering they would most likely have clauses in his agreement that stipulate what he can and/or can't do & allows company to sue him if he says anything negative and so forth. This wouldn't be the first time this has happened to a person with a big name.

As far as I am concerned, the "Fine Print" should the same size fonts as the "FREE" or "TRIAL PERIOD" or any other wordings that steer you towards buying the product. The company knows exactly what they are doing and they know they can get away with it as long as they follow the guidelines properly.

If you decide to cancel, just tell the customer service rep that you will be contacting your credit card company right afterwards advising them of the cancellation of the membership and that no additional charges should be posted from that point on. This way, if any charges come up after the fact, your credit card company will immediately credit it back to you. If you are able to email to your credit card company with the notice of cancellation, that would work in your favor as the email will be saved in your sent folder for future reference. I have done this before and it works everytime. I have had no issues with any of the companies posting additional charges.

I decided to try this out with the Trial basis of $3.95 for shipping.

The first order came very quickly (32oz and the chews) 4 days maybe?

A second delivery was sent to me in less than a week later???

That got my Spider sense tingling somewhat.

I cancelled acct but yet a 3rd package arrived??? WTF

My CC was billed for an extra $51 ???

How can you get a bill for something that you have already cancelled???

I used the product properly diluted in a 1 gal water jug 'cause its darned hot here in the SE and you need to hydrate when working outside.

Didn't do anything for me but, the "chews" left my tongue a real nice RED color for quite a few hrs afterwards eating them.

I admire Lance Armstrong but does he have any idea what he is "attached" to with FRS and the way that they transact their shameful business practices?

I would give my left nut to hear what Lance's take on this is.

I don't get the hysteria here. I signed up for the Free Trial sampler, and it's obvious that you get included into the AutoShip program when you do that. At first, I cancelled the future shipments, but then I liked the product so I signed back up a few weeks later. I've been using the drinks and chews for a few months, and really like the energy boost without the caffeine jitters.

Well maybe its not a scam "Nick" ?

I'll just say that maybe FRS is just being "over enthusiastic" about getting their product out the door ?

YOU PEOPLE ARE CRAZY -- I did the free trial then presumed I wouldn't like the product so called to cancel immediately and was never charged. Funnily enough I started to LIKE the product and ordered for money... months later, I'm like a crack addict LOVING FRS... Just cause you forgot to call and cancel doesn't make FRS scammers. The product is subtle so don't expect to be BLASTED with energy. If you exercise while using it you will feel (like Lance?) that you have almost zero fatigue. Give the product a chance and stope complaining. I swear to any deity that I have no financial gain in this company at all. Just "addicted"!! When my order is late, ask my co-workers, I get frantic!! Stop calling it a scam please, I want this company to stay in business!

Maybe it was all those porn sites you were visiting that sent you the spam! It's like you all have a personal beef with Lance Armstrong... I don't get it. But I'm addicted to the energy drink... I feel great and never have any "withdrawal" "drop-off" "burn out" etc. I've never been like excited about a product before... feel like a salesman or something!

My original/initial order was made online so FRS had my email address and other contact info.

What turned me off was getting 3 shipments within 14 days.

Thats why I cancelled.

I'm one of those "don't shove the product at me or abuse the use of my credit card" kinda people.

Had FRS not done that to me,

I may have given the product a longer chance.

I'm in the SE and ya gotta hydrate.

I enjoyed the taste of the concentrate mixed with water.

The "chews" well I didn't chew them, more like let them float around in my mouth for a while?

They tasted OK, but left my tounge red for hrs afterwards.

The ones I have left over just might add to some homemade "jello shots"???

Bottom line is that I don't like any product "shoved/pushed" in my direction under any circumstance period.

And as I said my original purchase was an online scenario.

Well,

I never received an email from FRS about anything until AFTER I cancelled and I get weekly emails from them.

Will I try the product again?

Maybe if they don't abuse me or my cc?

For right now I'll just stick to my old system of buying powdered concentrate Gatorade and mixing it with water.

Gotta love the "Cheerleaders" on here.

Almost like the "Naysayers" of the MagicJack telephone.

Ya gotta know that they work for Vonage or AT&T etc. JMO

Buy what ya want and hopefully you will enjoy what ya got?

I just signed up for the 2 weeks free today and saw that you also sign up for more shipments, it is sorta shady but really these people are just stupid and are complaining about somethign, that in the end, is their own fault. I love this stuff! I heard about the free 14-day trial through Thrillist, and liked the product so much I read product reviews online and did more research on the different forms you could get the stuff (powdered, concentrate, chews, cans).

I called them to ask a question about billing costs, and mentioned that I wanted to try the canned form, which was not included in the free trial. The rep was quite honest and told me that shipping costs were much higher for canned FRS, but that they shoule be available at my local GNC.

She then proceeded to send me a second completely free trial (they even paid for the shipping!) containing 5 cans, a full-size bottle of concentrate, and bag of chews, and a box of powder. I was shocked. She was also super nice too.

Maybe they've gaffed in the past, but I have been really satisfied with my experience, and it looks like they are really trying to be sincere and honest and stand behind their product!

In my opinion it definitely gives you sustained energy, quick recovery and no soreness. Yeah, the cancel or you will get auto ship is a pain but try reading the fine print and following instructions. This is not a scam, not even veiled it is plain as day.

I signe up as I tried the product in the can version from GNC and I liked it, found it to taste good and it definitely boosted energya little bit and made me a bit more alert but no crash like other energy drinks, that was the impressive thing about it, the limited studies have show to have a cumulative effect over a period of time from the consumption of Quecertin (a specified amount of it) that helps pick up energy levels, is this true, i will find out in a few months after I try it over that period of time.

I went for the FRS 14 day trial about 2 weeks ago. I knew I was getting signed up for the autoship as well. The information on the FRS site when I signed up made that crystal clear. I think some people just don't bother to understand what they're signing up for.

I love the product, but I called and cancelled the autoship just to find out if FRS was going to make it a hassle. It couldn't have been easier. The guy gave me a soft-sell, offering to send me the powdered drink mix with no shipping charge. I told him to just cancel, and he said, "No problem." Took about 2 minutes.

Now I have to get on the autoship again, because the price is so much better than anywhere else.

I noticed a lot of negative comments here were over a year old. Maybe they've changed their business practices for the better? At any rate, I have no problem with FRS at all.

The only scam is the one you accepted when you signed up. The company cannot help it if you cannot read. The sign up procedure clearly states that future shipments will follow if you do not cancal. And the price you stated for shipping is not the price advertised. You opted out of the three ninety five shipping price clearly advertised to recieve your procuct faster with the expideted shipping. So be honest next time liar.

I read the whole thing. I did not proceed to fill out the form. It is not the companys fault if you fail to read or do not have the capicity to do so. That is why I did not order the product in the first place. I refuse to sign up for stuff that I have to give my card number and then have the burden placed on me to stop shippments after that. If a product is so good they would not have to use this sales tactic.

If this procuct is what they say it is tnen why do they not offer it in supermarkets and helth food stores so people can buy as they feel they want to, or not buy if they do not want to.

If the person that started this thread had thought of this stuff before choosing to be scammed in a faster rate of the six dollar plus change. If he had half a brain he would have noted this and not opted out of the $3.95 regular shipping and instead take the expidated shipping at six dollars and change clearly advertised.

Simple point. You agreed to be scammed if that is what you want to call it. The way I see it you chose not only to give out freely you credit card number, signed up for the expadited shipping because you were impatient, then failed to follow through with you cancelation. You can recieve all your money back beyond the first free trial for $3.95 but lack the brains to do so. Simply tell you credit card company the problem and they will take that charge off. If you state to the credit card company that you followed the procedure and canceled. But I doubt you are being fully honest. ON the other hand you are extreemly stupid, this I do not doubt.

So for the lame brains that choose to be scammed, well, you will be.

OK I read some of the others replys. It seems I have to recant on one thing I said. If they do indeed sell at GNC and other places this makes the starter of this thread even more stupid. My recomendation to you friend. Learn to read. learn to be responsible with you Credit Card number, and learn to quit lying. Lance has my upmost respect. FRS has my upmost respect for being fully honest on their internet sign up process. The catch is you have to know how to read. It seems that a lot of people on this thread do not have that ability. That is exactly why I did not sign up. I have the ability to read, and did. That is why I will dig up info on this product and try it from local markets that do not require an automatic contract to recieve "free" stuff. That is why I may try QUERCETIN in other products as well as the FRS product.

To all you dummies that "CHOOSE" to be scammed, quit doing that, it can be expensive man. Your money will be better spent if you hire a reading tutor.

nativecajun

nativecajun  says:

QUERCETIN cannot reverse a lifetime of bad choices in five to fourteen days as some have stated the reason for cancelation. You actually have to get healthy. You have to actually "AGAIN" READ how quercetin works. If you wanted a quick fix then why did not choose as you chose in the past and be unhealthy and drink some of the other unhealthy choices out there in the form of "energy drinks"

Maybe you should learn how not to repeat yourself and how to write a concise paragraph.

If you would have noticed this hub started over a year ago, you would realize that things have dramatically changed because of complaints like the ones above. The pricing, disclaimers when purchasing, and options have changed. Things have become a bit more obvious when ordering and now you can purchase it in stores. Personally, I feel responsible for your positive experience with reviewing the FRS website.

Although I still believe FRS is a scam, and their tactics are not ethical and right. They take advantage of the consumer, their enlarged-heart representative and they hired the worst customer service reps to deal with a bad situation. I can say that with complete honesty.

I would suggest you take a reading and writing class to come up to speed from where you are now. Sometimes proof-reading before posting something will help. Also instead of racing to the bottom of the hub, read what is between to top and bottom! I would take your own advice and make sure you READ the other posts. You wouldn't have had to spend so much time repeating yourself.

I am a member who DID read the complete free trial offer - it is right there - just read. I like the product...it does not rev you up like "speed" but that is not what I want. I feel more alert, and not so worn out at the end of the day. Not a rip off you just have to read and understand and agree to the terms.

FRS cannot make you pay for anything you didn't order. Keep it, have your credit card company cancell the charges, and you won't be getting much more product you don't want.

Read what you're agreeing to... It says right on the page where you order your free trial "At the end of your 14 day trial period, you will be enrolled in the FRS monthly home delivery program..."

I've been using FRS for over a year, and generally like the product. I'm not one of those who didn't know what I signed up for.

However. Now that I want to cancel it, there is NOWHERE On the website to find out how to do that. You can only 'edit' your autoships, not cancel it. And in case you're trying to be funny and make your autoships 50 years in the future, they lock that out, too. I couldn't find a phone number on their website ANYWHERE, so I did a Google search and found this site.

I generally have had a good experience with them, but I find that kind of shady.

I did the 14 day trial and got my first shipment. when i went back to cancel, they said they had already shipped the second shipment and i'd have to pay the shipment charge to return it. they also wouldn't refund me my 67 dollar charge. after talking to the supervisor, they finally did say they would refund it and that it would take a couple of days. I'm pissed because they haven't done that yet AND they just charged me another 67 dollars 4 days after I called to cancel and get my refund. what the helllllll! now i have to wait til monday to do anything about it again. FRS is a scam! the drinks may or may not work but the company has shady business practices.

Rhonda  says:

My husband and I also tried the free trial and when the first box came we tried canceling it. Well we thought we had canceled it but we still got a 2nd box. And yes paid the $54.

The drink does nothing for either one of us, it's a waste.

But the energy chews do give me that extra edge to get through a busy day. It's not a big burst, just a little nudge.

Michael  says:

I ordered the 14-day trial of FRS for six bucks and I'm not sure if I'm gonna cancel. I kinda like it! I will admit that it doesn't taste so good when its warm, but it definitely enhanced my concentration and work performance. Exactly what I was looking for. I must stay away from ordinary coffee and energy drinks like Monster. They really f*** up my stomach. I liked FRS because it gave me just they right energy boost without feeling too wired and NO CRASH, thank God!!

I was fully aware that if I didn't cancel within 14 days that I would recieve 3 larger orders for like $50, then 3 more for $30, then the rest would be like half off, or something something like that. I read some of the posts above was amazed how many careless readers exist. ATTENTION PEOPLE: Any time you see the word TRIAL or FREE TRIAL, there will usually be more shipments at the standard rate unless you cancel during a given time slot. In this case 14 days. It's not Lance Armstrongs fault people dont read fine print.

Anywhoo, as far as my order goes, so far so good. I haven't even tried the chews yet. But I will today. Still got nine days to cancel.

hiddenword  says:

Yeah... Lance Armstrong should be embarrassed for endorsing this product. Or maybe you should be embarrassed for not reading the information easily available about the free sample - and the subsequent subscription to a monthly package, and then getting pissed that you didn't read it, and then posting a huge complaint about it. You're dumb.

Justin  says:

YOU SHOULDN'T ORDER A PRODUCT ONLINE IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE COMPLETE TERMS AND CONDITIONS.

I ORDERED THE FREE TRIAL OF FRS AND UNDERSTOOD VERY CLEARLY THAT IF I DIDN'T CALL THEM WITHIN 14 DAYS AFTER RECEIVING MY ORDER THAT THEY WOULD CONTINUE SENDING ME THEIR PRODUCT AT MY EXPENSE.

I AM COMPLETELY HAPPY WITH BOTH THE PRODUCT AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE OFFERED BY FRS. I HAD NO TROUBLE AT ALL CALLING AND CANCELING MY ORDER BECAUSE I READ THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS AND UNDERSTOOD WHAT I WAS SIGNING UP FOR. AS A METTER OF FACT I JUST ORDERED MORE FRS PRODUCT THIS WEEK.

Christy  says:

Wow! I'm shocked at how many people on this list are complaining about what has become a standard promotional business practice these days. Free trial, followed by a paid subscription if you don't cancel within a specified period. For heavens sakes, grow up people. Even the legitimate credit reporting services like Experian do promotions like this. If you're silly enough not to read the fine print, then shame on you! I checked these guys out, they are a BBB accredited business with a fairly low complaint rate with a good resolution rate for a company that does such a large volume of business. I haven't tried the product yet, but I will. As to the customer service reports I see in this page, most of them sound like sour grapes. Some of them sound like the company had technical difficulties...which can and does happen to every company. Some of them sound like exaggerations of angry people, and others are just clearly the complaints of people who are unhappy because they didn't get their way. I wouldn't be so quick to condemn Lance Armstrong or the company.

Lance Armstrong  says:

What? Me, a scammer? All I want is your credit card number to pay for my hospital bills. You know, radiation costs alot of $$$$. Does anyone know how to report these bad comments on Yelp? Ciao baby, and keep those orders coming!

Fight Back  says:

Now that we know how they get their cash, fight back. Get a Visa gift card for $10 and use that to order. Then buy $4 of gas to wipe out the balance on the card. If they ship you more product your ahead, well only if it does what they say it does.

Anyone who supports this kind of business practice is a rotten imbecile. They don't even answer the phone or e-mails and make it so difficult to cancel the product. Some people need to learn what customer service really is.

-It's not the customers' fault that they're foul business people.

Attention Attention.... Did anyone who tried this stuff actually read what the contents are? I can tell you right now that the contents of this "endorsed" product are the exact same products you get at the Vitamin Shoppe, or GNC, or Healthworld. None the less these free trials are a 50/50 shot, and by the way the contents in this so called product are only used for people who are above average health, so if your some person who isn't a very active person and in good physical condition then of course you would see no results. Try running and bein active.! nobody should endorse or take this product!!

Interestingly enough, that I have a co-worker here whom is noted for sleeping at work, so much to have several photos taken over the years. Anyway, as he had zero sleep last night, and 3 hours sleep the night before, I offered him one of these Orange FRS. If it is such a bad product, then why is he wake a working more attentively than I have seen him in the past three years. By the way, this is absolutely the truth. I love NOS, have drinking Red Bull, and just about everything else I could find out there for years... but have suffered so immensely from Acid Reflex that this is one of the rare drink that can give me sustained energy for my computer desk job needs. I don't workout ever, and I will tell you that this drink doesn't have the kick that those other drinks that I used, for so long. This is coming from a guy who has consumed two Red bull, and then gone to sleep. There is a place for this produce, and if it means that I can drink two a day, stay awake and not crash my car while driving again, while possibly getting health benefits. I think there is a place for this product, and well work better for some people than others depending on lack of exercise, and diet. I used to drink I guess about 12 to 14 cokes a day back in my 20's, 10 years later.... I am think this is a better alternative.

It really sucks that people are being scammed, but it's so true that nothing in life is free!!! When I drink this and workout, I feel like I can go on for hours!! I've never been an early morning workout girl, but with this drink, I can wake up and do a hardcore workout!!! I hate red bull and monster because of the bubbles and the taste!!! If anyone wants to try this product I recommend it, just read everything about it!!!!

3 months ago I tried to cancel my FRS account. The customer service person talked me into keeping it open and then cancelling or not accept the shipment when they were initiated again on October 20th. I just got off the phone with FRS customer service to cancel the order and was told I would be required to accept the shipment and pay for shipping or I would be charged for the entire amount. I have always admired Lance Armstrong for his accomplishments. It's too bad FRS is having such a negative impact on his reputation.

I say if something is good, it should be good to all. If not, it should be advertised so. Too many scams, corruption and fraud these days. Who do we complain to??? And things are getting worst. Another big example of Frauds are with Banks. I have had an account with Eastern Bank for years and never really paid attention to the charges on my account. Recently I started to look closely at the charges they post. I had several hundreds on my account when I noticed I was charged an over draft fee of $35 each for a $1 transaction that had went through. I looked at my statement properly to see if it was negative or short before I called Eastern Bank and enquired what was going on and I was told that even though I was seeing an available balance online that the money was not there. I was furious. I had enough money in my account to cover both transactions... to make matters worst the managers are rude in their approach. FYI: WHAT EASTERN BANK DOES IS, THEY PRESENT A MISLEADING STATEMENTS TO DECEIVE YOU OF WHAT IS AVAILABLE SO THEY COULD CHARGE YOU FEES. DO NOT USE YOUR CARD PEOPLE, USE CASH. THESE PEOPLE ARE CRIMINALS. DO NOT TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE CARD PROMOTIONS TO SAVE MONEY. EASTERN BANK PRACTICES FRAUD IN THEIR BANK AND ONLINE STATEMENTS.

and by the way for all of you highly intelligent, brilliant 'readers' out there you'd think a reputable company wouldn't pull a bait and switch or resort to sleazy tactics. you're right if i was overly paranoid i'd read every little thing, but i'm not, i tend to trust and i certainly tend to trust folks how claim to have integrity. we now know the mrs. armstrong has none or he wouldn't be affiliated with such trailer trash as the 'customer service' reps at frs. i was treated like a complete donkey. but hey we all know how it is you vote in this beautiful system of democracy and that is with your dollars. maybe frs should buy some car dealerships, they'd fit right in.....

I'm a computer programmer and very capable of navigating websites...even those that attempt to intentionally be deceptive but leave you SOME way out... and could find NO way to cancel my FRS order online. I could delay my first shipment for several months! But could NOT cancel despite clicking on every link possible and even using google search to find hidden pages. After 2 days of calls and waiting on hold for well over 2 hours I did succeed... but what a nucking fightmare. All this is assuming they still don't send me something I haven't ordered like some people complain about. SCAM!

Tom  says:

OMG....I can't believe how many "stupid" people got scammed. Does anybody read anymore? Sounds like a bunch of people that buy on the fly without reading a darn thing. It's pretty straight forward on how to cancel your orders. Second, this isn't Lance Armstrongs fault - the guy has done more for other people then all of us combined. I love how others want to blame somebody else - EXCEPT themselves. Take some responsibility people. Finally, I took the product for 3 months - felt great and noticed a big difference in energy. I then got off the product for 1 month and starting feeling sluggish and tired again. I am an Ironman that trains 6 days a week for 3-4 hours per day in the winter months. I can tell you I NEED this product and feel the difference of when I am taking it. The key is 2 chew tablets in the morning, 2 in the afternoon, and 1 before dinner. If they keep you awake at night, skip the 1 before dinner as that happened to me at first. If you're considering taking this product, please don't listen to all these disgruntled people who are not smart enough to cancel their orders. And if you listen to the line of you can buy quercetin cheaper somewhere else.....well, thats not the case. What these people don't know is where FRS is getting there quercetin from and the quality control behing the product. That's like saying you prefer a McDonalds hamburger over a Red Robin hamburger - both hamburgers, not the same quality. Same is true for the Quercetin - these people need to do their research a little more.

As for a scam we have a full refund policy for those of you who decide not to read our website. 20 day money back , all we ask is you pay for return shipping. not to bad
