Given the permanence of this method, it is quite a popular consideration amongst women who are serious about getting rid of their unwanted hair.  If this is done by a qualified electrologist, there should be no adverse effects to the surrounding skin. 

As for whether it will be painful or not, some say it’s similar to getting the hairs plucked out with tweezers, while others complain of the pain being just too excessive to deal with.

You’ve got to think back to what your pain tolerance is like based on past experiences in related situations and make a judgment call if this is right for you or not.

2. Laser Hair Removal Treatment

The other option when it comes to face hair removal is that of laser hair removal. When this is performed, a light is emitted onto the skin where it reaches the hair follicle, fills it with heat and then disables it. The good thing about this treatment method is it can tackle several hair follicles at once, unlike electrolysis, this lends it to be a faster method of treatment, although not that it would matter much on an area as small as your face.

There is one thing to note with a laser hair removal machine though, some of them work better with certain skin types. Because the machines emit a laser which is absorbed by the melanin in the hair(a substance which gives your hair and skin it’s color), if you happen to have tanned or dark skin as well, some of that energy will be absorbed into the melanin in your skin which will result in a less effective end result. Worst case, it may even result in burning of the skin.
