Get your Face in Shape

Save Face with Shapely Glasses

The face is a mirror to one's identity. Your face shape or face cut decides the intensity of your facial features, which in turn affects your whole get up. It is necessary to know one's face shape in order to decide the types of accessories to wear. The style of earrings, glasses, nose rings etc all depend upon the face of the wearer.

Figure Out Your Face Shape

To know one's face shape one can easily check their face in a mirror or get some one to do it for them. Firstly, check if your face is more long than wide or if it is as long as wide. Then see if your face is wide on the top and gets thinner at the bottom, or if it is pretty much even. Lastly see if you have strong angles on your face or is it curvier. Afterwards draw a face based on the deductions you came to. See what shape the drawing resembles the most, see if it is round, oval, square, or heart shaped. The shape drawn is the one that you should shop for.

Eyeglasses For Your Face

Before buying a pair of reading glasses, some things must be considered. Firstly, the glasses should be in contrast to the cut of the face. Secondly, the frame of the glasses should be near the face width.

Round Face - A round visage has curved outlines, with the overall width and length proportions being about the same. An Angular and narrow pair of glasses lengthens the face and make the round face look thinner. Reading glasses that are rectangular usually go well with round faces.

Square Face - A square face has similar size in its width and length, in addition to a broad forehead, together with a strong jawline. People with such faces should look for frames that are more wide than they are long, and can reduce the facial angles. This will give the illusion of a lengthened face and a narrower look. Lenses that are oval in shape are good on square face shapes.

Oval Face -A face that is longer than it is width is an oval face. Using frames that have vertical height can make the face look shorter and balanced. People with oval faces should look for frames, which are deep from top to bottom as it conceals the sections of extended cheeks. It is ok to look for exciting and fun temples that can add additional width to the face.

Heart Face - A face, which is wider at the top and narrow towards the chin is a heart shaped face. Men and women with heart shaped face can look for frames, which are wider at the bottom than at the top. Rimless designs and Light frames go well with heart shaped faces.

Once the face shape has been found, it becomes easy for anyone to buy the perfect eyewear. Choose the color of the eyewear, (or colors in some cases, like that with reading glasses ) to match your complexion and you might just have the eyewear for every occasion.

An Example of Face Shape and Frame Style

I don't why her glasses became such a big deal, but they did. Here is a hub that tells why Sarah Palins Glasses look good in regard to her face shape. I also like how the author points out that her eyeglasses are not made in Amrica. I suppose wearing these frames helps with her foreign policy experience...
