The Fan page option is great for marketing and bussinesses because as an individual you can only build a friend group of up to 5,000 people, but with a Fan Page you can build a group with tens of thousands of people in it.

One small aspect of Facebook some people  may find a bit annoying is the lack of available information before you decide to join. When looking at their online website, which can be found at www.facebook.com, it is hard to tell whether or not the site is free to use because some social medias do have a cost involved. Most online social networking sites will make this known right at the start, but Facebook does not for some reason.
