What to do with those long boring nights or rainy weekends? If you are in the mood to amuse yourself for hours without really accomplishing anything then Facebook is for you. There are endless options and something for everyone to do. It is a mindless way to burn a few hours if you have such time on your hands.

I believe the Facebook concept began as a way for us to keep up on our friends lives and doings. It was sort of an adult myspace. I signed up as it was a good way to keep in touch with my sister as she lives on the other side of the United States. I enjoy looking at the drawings she posted that her 5 year old daughter drew and kind of knowing what she has been up to. Then I found my circle of friends and co workers on Facebook as well. I began to get "friends" on Facebook. Everytime you check your facebook you find that your homepage fills up quickly with friends activities. Some friends are one of those facebook fiends that has to go and type down everything they did that day or place 20 profile pic of themselves on line. I don't need to know everything that person did that day. Luckily you can filter this information out by requesting not to show much about that person. There is also a chat feature on there that you can chat with friends when they are on line and a feature for email. Those are good things.

Now here are some of the things you can do that can take hour and hours of your time.. Not only can you chat with friends and email friends you can also send your friends things like drinks or fairies or jewelry or even have a food fight. The more you send or receive the more points you get. The more points you get the more opportunity you have to unlock more exotic drinks or virtual jewelry. These are known as Requests.. and if you have lots of friends these requests can take hours! I think i have 60 or so pending.

You can also go and take a look at other friends "walls" and see what friends they have and check their profiles too. This can take hours of time if you are so inclined. There is a privacy feature on his as well so don't worry .. you can have friends get permission to see your stuff.

Another feature are the endless quizzes you can take.. These quizzes help you find you soul mate, your aura or define your personality. They will tell you what kind of cartoon character you most relate or what marvel superhero you are. ( Mine was Mickey Mouse and Storm, in case you were wondering) They are kind of fun as you can compare your scores or like to your friends. Some quizzes can take way too long though.

Then there are Notifications.Every time someone in your Mafia or group of friends does something on a game you get a notification to the right of the screen. Every time you get a drink an interview request or anything you get these notifications. Sometimes it is hard to keep up!

Forbes.com estimates this website has as many as 500 million users.  Due to the fact it's content cannot be controlled advertisers have been weary of placing advertisements on this site.  They are afraid their content may appear nex to some type of vulgarity.  A company called Rock you is using widgets and other creative novelty items to link people to their pages. This seemed to have eased up the fear and many are starting to advertise again.

Along with the Facebook email chat and virtual gifts there are games Galore! You can play these games with your friends on Facebook. You can play with your own friends if you have enough or you can recruit new people and make them your friends. Most games require that you have a large group of people in order to get more points, loot or treasure Here are a listing of some of the games you can play on Facebook.  The ones I will be reviewing are Zynga games.

Mafia Wars

The first batch of games is through Zynga games.  Included and probably the most popular of this game is Mafia Wars. Mafia Wars boasts to have millions of people play around the world each day.  This is the only game you can get away with murder.  Very addicting is this game as you use your energy points to  complete various " Jobs".  The more Jobs you complete the higher your level.  You get six experience points every time you complete a level.  Every time you completa  job you get money.  Yo use the money to buy more items to do jobs.  The other part of this game is that you get to fight other players.  The game gives you a listing of who is on line and how many people are in their Mafia.  You choose to fight one of the gangs with your stamina points.  Make sure you bank your money or you could lose it to who ever you duel.  You can also lose energy points and gain cash when you fight.  There is also a section to be a hit man on this site.  Once I knocked off my opponent on the hit list and won eight million dollars.  You would have thought I won it in real life as excited as I got! You can use your money to also buy properties to bring in hourly income!  every time you complete a level a notification is sent to  your home page for your friends to read.

Castle Age

A second Favorite is Castle Age.  You become a part of a band of  mythical creatures that attack other facebook players and go on quests.  This game is very similar to Mafia Wars.  Use your energy for your "quests" and stamina to "battle"  each quest earns you more gold to place in your "keep" or to go and buy special members to your team or properties.  You can also duel others one on one if you choose.  The higher the level the more you experience points you earn. The higher up in the ranks you go the more powerful your characters become.  You have to unlock the higher powered mythical creatures with your gold and experience points.

If you have gotten this far in the hub then you know now that I am a "multislacker "! ;)  You can easily have more than one game opened and then play the other game while you gain more energy and stamina

Yoville

Yoville is sort of a SIMS type game. You can chose your character and dress her up however you like. The character gets to interact with other characters in the Yoville world. I can't say I have played this game much as my so called friends splashed water balloons above my head. You can chat with your Yoville characters as well as give them virtual gifts. There is a whole town to explore. After I found the map I visited the Casino.. Imagine that! You can win virtual money there. There is options to move your character to dance or do jumping jacks or to use emoticons. I didn't know how else to make money as there was no job feature promoted so I just went fishing instead. You can bring in more money if you have more friends.

Pirates

Arrr Matey  you can be a Pirate too!  You can earn treasure by "plundering" others.  there is even a cool feature that you can buy a pet.  You can have a Parrot, monkey dog or cat.  But remember there is upkeep for these animals as well.  You are required to pet it, feed it and water it.

Farmville

This game gives you a virtual you to create to your taste and then give you a virtual plot of land. You have four sections to take care of until you can afford to make your farm larger. You earn coins by selling your virtual produce. But you have to spend your coins on seeds and buildings and animals. Once you acquire property you will start having an income. I found this game kind of boring.  It takes several days for your plants to grow and it wasn't apparent what to do next.. except for invite your friends to play with you.

There are countless other games offered by Zynga as well as other gaming sites.  these are the only ones I have explored so far as I begin to digress int a true Multi slacking mode.  Ther eis  a site called Vampires and something about fashion wars that I will be checking into as time allows
