Farm Town

If you have not tried Facebook FarmTown yet, then you are missing out on a fun and addicting game. I have had many people tell me that they signed up for a Facebook account for the Farm Town application. I have created a Facebook account to give the game a try. At first, I thought it was a little boring. However, after about an hour of playing the game, I was hooked. If you have not played it, you should. It is 100% free.

Starting FarmTown

To start playing Farm Town, you have to first, create a Facebook account. Then, you go to applications on your home page and click on the Farm Town link. When you first load the game, you have a small bit of the farm already created for you. You want to invite all of your friends that you have found on Facebook to be your neighbors. Then you find the tools on the bottom of the screen and start plowing and harvesting.

Farm Town Plowing

You will need to begin plowing your farm in order to plant seeds. You look at the bottom of the screen and use the plow tool to do this. Try to plow your spots straight in a row.

Farm Town Planting Seeds

The next thing you need to do is plant seeds to grow so that they can be harvested. You click on the store icon at the bottom of the screen to purchase seeds. You have certain seeds available to you in the beginning, and then you can buy more as you advance levels. The way you advance levels is by selling your harvested crops at the market or harvesting and plowing for other people.

Farm Town Harvesting

After a period of time, you will be able to harvest your crops. It will tell you when you purchase your seeds how many hours or days that it takes for the harvest to be available. When you click on your farm and the farm is ready for harvesting, you pick the harvesting tool at the bottom of the screen and harvest and store your crops. Then you go to the market and sell them.

Farm Town Store

  • You can purchase many items from the Farm Town store. First, you click the icon at the bottom of the screen and go to the store. Then you buy the items that you have earned enough money to buy. You unlock different items as you advance through the game. Here is a list of the item categories available at the store:
  • Seeds
  • Trees
  • Buildings
  • Animals
  • Fences
  • Paths
  • Ponds
  • Other

Farm Town Trophies

After you reach certain milestones on Farm Town, you receive trophies. There are 14 trophies available for you to earn. They are all based o your neighbor status, such as; popular, influential, socialite neighbor and other achievements. This is just a little extra incentive to add more goals to the game.

Farm Town Neighbors

You can advance in Farm Town by going to your neighbors properties and doing things when you receive an invite to do this. When ever you are prompted to help at your neighbor’s farm, you click yes and receive 15 coins each time you do this.

Farm Town Marketplace

You can go to Farm Town market place to sell your harvested crops and to find work to earn more money to buy things for your farm. When you go there you will see a lot of people begging for jobs. If you are looking for work, you type in the chat bar that you need to work. You can earn coins for plowing and harvesting other farmer’s fields. Once you get picked to harvest or plow, you just click the invitation and go there and earn your coins. You can also offer to pay people to harvest and plow you farm.

Farm Town Inn

Farm Town Inn is a place where people hangout and chat. You can go here by clicking on the map and then clicking the icon for the Farm Town Inn. You can also buy land and make your farm bigger. You do this by clicking on the map and going to the Realtor office.

Farm Town Summary

In summary, I have to give Farm Town a 10 out of 10 score. I love the game and it is very addictive. If you play farm town already then you know this. If you do not, you should try it. It is totally free and very entertaining. I hope you enjoyed my review. If you play or start to play Farm Town, send me an invite through my email here and we will be neighbors. I need some more neighbors.

Oooo...I'm a big fan of both the Sims and Harvest Moon and this reminds me of Harvest Moon (Nintendo DS). These games are addicting and I'm afraid to start:( I'll definitely think about doing it however and if and when I do, I'll definitely find you, as I already have a Facebook account, UK. Thanks for the fun hub!

My friend got me hooked on it, and it was a gateway game to farmville (not quite as good, but the server doesn't crash nearly as often) and yoville.

I have a facebook account and I have the application FarmTown and you are right it is not only fun but very addicting. My favorite part of the game is harvesting and saving my "profits" to gain land and farm buildings. Thanks for sharing!

My daughter and 5 yr old are Facebook Farm Town addicts, and got me all worried. Accdg to her, she has reached the peak of the game and there's no were else to go. I have not gotten into it only because i can't find anymore time with all the things i have to do. Now i understand a little more.

I'm a level 34 on farm town, but there are so many problems with the game. The latest is a "runtime error" and I get kicked out of farm town and internet explorer both. I'm on day 5 of this problem - and no one to help fix it since it is an application glitch. I can't visit my neighbors, water flowers for them, or work. Heck, I can't even stay on my own farm long enough to hire someone to harvest for me! Very disappointed in a game that I'm totally hooked on.

I was wondering the same thing as kristina: I had no idea that Farmtown AND Farmville were both on FB. I thought it was just Farmville. I started Farmtown on Myspace...Now I want to link up my account to both my Myspace AND FB. Huh.

I do enjoy the game, though. I've always been a huge fan of simulation games...started about 10, 15 years ago with the Maxis franchise. It's addicting.

Thanks for the article though. It was very organized and informative. Happy farming!! :-)
