Facelift results at home
59Beautiful skin, we all want to have it. Male or female, young or old, we all want that youthful vibrant complexion. Every year that goes by I become more and more aware of the small telltale signs of aging on my skin. A frown line here, small wrinkles in the corner of my eyes and skin that is not as tight as it used to be. What’s a girl on a budget to do? Facelifts are way out of my price range and frankly out of my comfort zone too. So the next best thing I have discovered is at home treatments that help me combat the signs of time.
One such treatment utilizes galvanic current. Galvanic current was first discovered by Luigi Galvani in the 1780’s. These treatments use two different types of current. A positive current and a negative current. The first current used is the negative current and the product that is used also has a negative charge. This is so the product can penetrate deep into your skin and attract dirt, oils and impurities to be removed. The next step is to remove the negatively charged products, place a positively charged product onto the skin, and set the system to a positive current. This attracts the dirt and oils to be removed while infusing your skin cells with nourishing products. It also promotes circulation deep within your skins layers. After several treatments, and no down time, your skin begins to glow.
There are currently two hand held galvanic systems that I have used on the market today. One is created by NuSkin and the other is created by a company called Garfield International/Paragon. The last company has been in the business of skin care equipment for over 20 years. Both are great machines. Here I will list some differences between the two: # 1 for me was cost. A NuSkin unit cost anywhere from $285 dollars (if you chose to also be a distributor for the company) to $350. Paragon’s unit runs for $96 To $112. #2) NuSkin has different attachments to use on face, body, and hair. Paragon unit does not, but you can easily use the facial rollers on the body. And finally # 3 was the accompanying products. NuSkin has a complete product line that you buy (at additional costs) that tell you when to use them/ how to use them/and on which setting. Paragon does not. This means you would have to be willing to do some research to discover the proper positive gels/serums, and proper negative gels and serums to use. I am a licensed esthetician who studied all aspects of skin care, skin care products and ingredients, so this was easy for me. But if you are a novice in the realm of skin care, you may prefer having the convenience of the products coming with the device.
For me it all really came down to cost. They both produced the same results on my skin but one was a lot more inexpensive and didn’t come with the sales pitch of how I could earn money selling it to others. Here I have to add you do not have to become a distributor to purchase NuSkin’s machine or products-it’s just cheaper if you do. If you do chose to go at it alone and purchase the paragon unit that has no pre- packaged products, do your homework. Get on-line and research positive and negative gels and serums to use with a galvanic unit. Or maybe even just purchase NuSkin’s products and use them with Paragons unit.
Whatever system you decide to go with, there is no denying the results of clearer, smoother and more vibrant looking skin without the high dollar price and risk of surgery!
