O.K, girls, come on, you can tell me…just how much do you
spend on those high priced cosmetics?
Yes, I know it’s strange for a man to be writing an article
like this, but…bear with me I have a vested interest here :>)
Have you seen my partner once she gets going in Body Shop,
Saje or Neal’s Yard? Talk “about shop till you drop” – it’s sight to behold!
And, I’m willing to bet (at the risk of incurring the wrath of every woman on
Hubpages) that YOU are just the same.
Am I right?
Yes, I can see you smirking behind that anger you are
directing at me!
As it happens, I don’t think my partner needs to spend the fortune she does trying to keep those fine lines and wrinkles at bay. She looks absolutely wonderful! My daughter was moved to comment, when we first met, that “Alison is far too young for you Dad” – thanks very much!
Learning To Massage - Yes, Really!
So, what’s the point of this?
Well, it’s this. Recently we started to market an
instructional series of DVD’s titled “Learn To Massage”.
Now I have to admit, at first I thought it was a load of old
bunkum, but, under duress, I was persuaded to watch the “Learn to Massage”
DVD’s and to “give it a go”!
Now, the beneficial claims for facial massage are quite
astounding, and again, I must admit to thinking “yeah, whatever”.
However, we watched the “learn facial massage” DVD, and if
nothing else, it looked very relaxing and as though it was very pleasurable.
The first thing that was pointed out is that…to truly gain
the benefits, you do have to receive massage regularly. We’re not talking once
a month here, but probably 1-2 times a week. However, once you’ve experienced
facial massage, I can guarantee that once or twice a week will not seem like a
hardship!
I must warn you though that too much facial massage (more
than 25 minutes at a time) may “over stretch” the skin.
So, if you have “treatment” on a regular basis you can
expect to look both younger and more healthy…you will experience what is called
a “healthy glow” in other words a radiant complexion!
After a couple of weeks, you’ll notice some of those fine lines disappearing and wrinkles decreasing.
Chin, Chin!
I am told this is because the facial massage tightens facial
muscles, reduces toxins in the facial areas and increases blood flow. So, the
need for anti-aging and anti-wrinkle cream is drastically reduced if not
removed all together. I am told this is an amazing and extremely cost effective
benefit :>)
Facial massage can also be used around the neck to
reduce lines and firm up baggy skin, with the same applying to any baggy skin
and entrenched lines around the chin. The chin was a big one for me as I had
some serious entrenched lines under my chin after 13 months away from exercise
after a series of knee operations.
Facial massage really helped get my chin-line back,
even at my age!
Other key areas where facial massage techniques can really help are the reduction and removal of laughter lines and frown lines. Again the feeling of receiving a facial massage in these areas is so relaxing.
Facial Massage Techniques For Removing Worry Lines!
My favourite area though is having my forehead
massaged. Wow, this is just amazing. And after 21 years in industry, I can tell
you I had a very furrowed brow!
However, after just three months practising
facial massage regularly my “worry marks” have seriously reduced.
We now give and receive facial massage (and Indian
head and body massage) on a regular basis. It has become an integral part of
our lives and we make time to “indulge”.
As well as the physical and aesthetic benefits, the benefit of facial massage in terms of relaxation should not be discounted.
After a hard day at the PC “Internet Marketing” half an hour of massage leaves me feeling relaxed, looking much better and ready to take on the world again. I can’t recommend it highly enough!
I have found that if one of those nasty tension headaches is coming on, or my sinuses start to block up, a facial massage can also help to greatly reduce symptoms.

Some Facial Massage Techniques You Can Try With Each Other
So, to finish off, here are some techniques you can use on your partner and friends foreheads (this is wonderful)! I do suggest you pass these techniques on to your partner so they can reciprocate! After all, relationships are all about give and take…but that’s another subject for another day.
So, here are some great facial massage techniques
for the forehead area.
How To Reduce Forehead “Worry” Lines With Facial Massage
Circular moves –
Use just the tips of your fingers to make small circular movements on your
subject’s forehead. Apply moderate pressure and move from the inside outwards
finishing off in the temple area.
Friction – Using
the fingertips of two or three fingers make quick “up and down” movements on
the forehead. This will help to increase blood flow around the area. It also
feels great!
Zigzag – Using two
fingers on one hand and one on the other, hold them against the extremities of
the forehead. Then rapidly slide your
fingers together so that the single finger slides between the two. Gradually
slow the speed down.
Try
these techniques out with your partner and enjoy not only the physical benefits
but also the amazing feeling of stress release and relaxation that facial
massage can bring.
