Job Interviews:
An interview for a job is usually to evaluate your personality. Questions are asked about yourself, your goals, your interests, and reasons for considering the job/ professional etc and there could be questions on your professional background and awareness of the organization and its activities.
Generally Interviewers focus on your introduction, why do you think you deserve the job, why do you wish to work here ,what are the skills, strengths and weaknesses you bring to the job and your employability skills in addition to desirable attributes which are job specific .
You may also have to take part in Group Discussion with topics that may be current but may also be in the form of case studies or role play.
You may also have to appear for a Psychometric Test that measures the mental skills, aptitudes and personality traits of people.
The first and foremost thing to keep in mind while going for an interview is that: you should be on time, be formally dressed and well groomed.

First Impression is the Last Impression:
Make the Fist Impression with following Tips:
1. Dress for the Job or Company : It is important to look professional and well-groomed. It depends on the company culture and the position you are seeking. If possible, call to find out about the company dress code.
2. Practice Good Communication : It is all about demonstrating confidence: standing straight, making eye contact and connecting with a good, firm handshake. That first impression can be a great beginning to your interview. 3. Be a Good Listener : Your interviewer will be giving you information, either directly or indirectly. If you are not hearing it, you are missing a major opportunity. Good communication skills include listening and letting the person know you heard what was said. Observe your interviewer, and match that style and pace. 4. Don't Talk Too Much : Telling the interviewer more than he needs to know could be a fatal mistake. Prepare for the interview by reading through the job posting, matching your skills with the position's requirements and relating only that information. 5. Don't Be Too Familiar : Interview is not about making a new friend. Your level of familiarity should mimic the interviewer's demeanor. It is important to bring energy and enthusiasm to the interview and to ask questions, but do not overstep your place as a candidate looking for a job. 6. Use Appropriate Language: You should use professional language during the interview. Be aware of any inappropriate slang words or references to age, race, religion, politics or sexual orientation. 7. Don't Be overconfident: Attitude plays a key role in your interview success. There is a fine balance between confidence, professionalism and modesty. Even if you're putting on a performance to demonstrate your ability, overconfidence is bad. 8. Take Care while Answering the Questions: When an interviewer asks for an example of a time when you did something, he is seeking a sample of your past behavior. If you fail to relate a specific example, you not only don't answer the question, but you also miss an opportunity to prove your ability and talk about your skills. 9. Do not Hesitate to Ask Questions: It is extremely important to ask questions to demonstrate an interest in what goes on in the company. Asking questions also gives you the opportunity to find out if this is the right place for you. The best questions come from listening to what is asked during the interview and asking for additional information. 10. Don't Appear Desperate : Be: cool, calm and confident. You know you can do the job; make sure the interviewer believes you can, too.
Top Interview Questions
Frequently Asked Interview Questions:
- Tell me something about yourself : Do not just repeat what you have mentioned in your resume. Be ready with your unique answer.
- Why have you selected to join us? OR Why do you want to work here? : Have a research done about the company / organization Give just one or two reasons why you are interested. You can add these points (1) company's reputation(2) desire to join the specific field of interest. E.g. I always longed to work with a company. I am familiar and whose products I have used and trusted.
- Why are you leaving your current job? : Try to give two or three reasons for leaving. Lack of challenge, focus on the limitations etc. Point out your ambition to prove your worth confidently.
- What is your current salary?: Be specific on the answer. Do not hesitate to say the benefits you enjoyed in the previous job. It may be verified so never mention the benefits you have not got.
- What Salary do you expect? : This is a tricky question to be answered carefully. If you mention a salary that is low it shows that you are not up to the mark. If you mention too high you have ruined a chance to get a job. So the best is to ask for the salary they offer and then show your capacity, how your experience and qualification rate with what is offered.
- Why should we take you? : This is often the concluding Question. Be prepared with your homework and research about the company and the job position.

Thank you.
Good advice. You mention one thing, but it’s addressed only briefly and that is that a job interview is not one way. The company wants to find out if you’re the right candidate, but you will also want to know if this is the right company and the right job for you. So this is your chance to get a feeling about the job and the atmosphere and culture within the company. Be critical. You don’t want to put up your best show, get hired and find out after a few months that you don’t like it at all. Ask yourself: is this the place where I want to spend almost 2/3 of my time?

I remember I somehow forgot that part sometimes, guidebaba. If one has been out looking for a job for quite a while, you tend to become somewhat more desparate.
