Fads,Styles,and Trends
73Over the years, mankind has had many different fads. They vary from a person's clothing style and games and toys.
There have been many, many different trends. This hub is to show you what some of these fads, styles, and trends were.
We will go by decades starting with the 1920's.
1920's
One of the fads of the 20's was started by Cab Calloway{a famous musician}.The style was for African-Americans to straighten their hair;making a "conk".The style lasted into the 1960's.The picture at right shows a conk.
Another big trend of the 20's was swing dancing. There were many forms of swing. It is a fun dance, try it sometime.

1930's
The 30's was full of fads. The style of that day was the zoot suit.Every man wearing a zoot suit looked like a gangster.
Another big fad of the 30's was Betty Boop. The cartoon "hottie" was seen on everything.Everyone loved Betty!
Board games became quite the trend in the 30's too.The biggest one was Monopoly.Nothing like a night of Monopoly!
1940's
There just wasn't a whole lot of fads in the 40's,but there is one that comes to mind.I know anyone with any age to them at all has played with the slinky. The spring that will go anywhere.Wow,we were easily amused. What would kids do with just a slinky these days?
1950's
The 50's had tons of fads, styles, and trends.I will just list a few.
The first style that comes to mind was the coonskin cap.Every boy watched Davy Crockett and had to have a hat just like his.Yep,I had one too!
Another big deal with teenage boys was to have the James Dean style.Fancy sideburns was where it was at.
And last for the 50's was the frisbee.A saucer you could throw back and forth which is still popular today. Some of the tricks that can be done just amaze me.Many people have trained dogs to do frisbee catching.

1960's
There were a lot of goofy fads in the 60's,but my mind is only in one place. It was a style that brought pure lust out of man.I'm talking about the mini-skirt.
Ok,I have to get my mind back to the hub and on to the 70's.

1970's
One of the biggest fads of the 70's was disco music.Everyone wore platform shoes and danced to strobe lights.
The other huge trend was the pet rock. Why people would buy a rock they could have went outside and picked up just baffles me.I wish I would have invented it;I'm sure that person lives very comfortably now.
There have been many more fads, styles, and trends. There always will be.I hope you enjoyed this list of fads.
