  1. Try to arise at the same time every day. This will give your system a sleep pattern.
  2. Sleep in a cool dark room. This will help you to sleep soundly.
  3. Have a warm bath or shower before going to bed. Lowering ones body temperature has been proven to help sleep.
  4. Drink a cup of warm milk. Milk contains tryptophan which will make you feel sleepy.
  5. Add the scent of lavender to your room. Lavender has been proven to induce sleep.
  6. Distract repetitive thought with an easy listening radio station. This will help you shut off your thoughts so that you can sleep.
  7. Avoid napping in the day. If you must nap, keep it to 30 to 45 minutes.
  8. If you can't sleep...get up! Do something until you are tired enough fall asleep.
  9. Try to maintain a consistent bedtime. This will give your body a pattern to follow.
  10. Sleep or Sex Only! Use your bed for sleep or sex only. Nothing else! This will give your brain a message that your bed is a quiet place meant for sleep.

Great suggestions, also not drinking anykind of caffinated drinks three hours prior going to bed helps. Misting your pillow with a lavender, chamomile spray works fantastic also. You can usually purchase the spray from Bath and Body Online for $10 or make your own even. You did great with this!!
