- Assess job and facility fall hazards.
- Perform JRAs and FRAs.
- Evaluate fall hazards.
- Eliminate/control/minimize fall hazard exposures.
- Eliminate/minimize work at height.
- Prevent falls with engineering controls.
- Arrest falls with PPE or engineering control.
- Assign qualified staff.
- Verify correct implementation.
3. Walking and Working Surfaces
- Maintain housekeeping in work areas.
- Maintain surfaces in an undamaged, slip-free manner.
- Contact the Building Manager to correct hazards.
In 2005, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported that 767 workers died in fatal falls, a 7% decline from the series high recorded in 2004.
