The Brown Lady Ghost Photograph

The Brown Lady Ghost Photograph
The Brown Lady Ghost Photograph

The brown lady ghost photograph is the most famous ghost photo ever and even though many many people have tried to prove its a fraud no one has ever been able to. It has become one of the best photos showing evidence of a ghost ever. The ghost in the photo is said to be that of Lady Dorothy Townshend. She was the wife of Charles Townshend who was the 2nd Viscount of Raynham.

There is much controversy about Lady Townshend. Before her marriage to Charles Townshend she was said to have been the mistress of Lord Wharton. She died and Charles had a huge funeral for her but refused to open the casket. Servants who worked in the house said the funeral was only a sham and that after the funeral Lady Dorthy Townshend was kept locked away in a distant corner of the house in a small room until her real death many years later. Servants claimed that after her death the rooms door was bricked over and hidden. Some of them claim when she didn't die after a few years Charles had the door bricked up with her still alive in the room. Shortly afterward and ever since the ghost of the brown lady has been seen going up and down the staircase in the home. And that is where the famous photo was taken.

Lord Combermere's Ghost

The above photo of Lord Combermere was taken in 1891 while Lord Combermere's funeral was going on a few miles away. If you look at the left chair you can clearly see Lord Combermere setting there. Lord Combermere was a calvary officier and he died after being struck by a horse drawn carriage. Apparently Lord Combermere didn't know he had died or his funeral was going on. This photo is one of the best ghost photos ever taken.

Freddy Jackson's Ghost Photo

Freddy Jackson's Ghost Photo

This photo was taken in 1919 of a group of men who served on the HMS Daedalus during World War One. This photo is really interesting as a extra ghostly face appears in the photo behind the man in the top row of the photo. People over the years have claimed it is the face of airman Freddy Jackson who was killed by a airplane propeller a few days before the photo was taken. Apparently Jackson did not realize he had died and so he showed up for the group photo. It is also one of the best photographic evidences of ghost ever. How else could have Jackson's face have ended up in the photo unless it is the face of his ghost captured in the photo.

The Back Seat Ghost Photo

The story goes that one day in 1959 Mrs Mabel Chinnery was visiting the grave of her mother. She had brought along a camera to take photos of the gravesite of her mother. At one point she turned the camera towards their car where her husband was setting in the front seat and snapped a photo. Afterwards when the photo was developed Mrs Chinnery and her husband almost had a fit. Setting there in the back seat behind her husband was her mother clear as day. Many people over the years have examined the photo and declare it to be genuine.

There are some spooky ones there for sure. Really makes you think. Especially the one of the soldier who had his picture taken after he was dead. The Boot Hill one would scare you to.
