After the release of the film, it was revealed that some scenes in the movie where athletics were required were actually performed by double Marine Jahan. Richard Erskine Frere Leakey
was born 19 December 1944 in Nairobi, Kenya. He is a Kenyan paleontologist and conservationist. He is second of the three sons of the archaeologists Louis Leakey and Mary Leakey, and is the younger brother of Colin Leakey. Richard chose to support himself, borrowed 500 pounds from his parents for a Land Rover, and went into the trapping and skeleton supply business with Kamoya Kimeu. The bone business turned into a safari business in 1961. In 1962 he obtained a private airplane pilot license and took tours to Olduvai. It was from a casual aerial survey that he noted the potential of Lake Natron's shores for paleontology He went looking for fossils in a Land Rover, but could find none, until his parents assigned Glynn Isaac to go with him. Louis was so impressed with their finds that he gave them National Geographic money for a month's expedition.
Robert Urich
was December 19, 1946 - April 16, 2002 Toronto, Ohio. He was an actor, best known for playing private investigators on the television series Spenser: For Hire and Vega$. He also starred in numerous other television series over the years including: S.W.A.T., Soap and The Lazarus Man. Urich had lead or supporting roles in no less than 19 television series and miniseries (including several documentary programs). He also regularly hosted National Geographic TV specials. n 1996, Urich announced that he had been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, synovial cell sarcoma, that attacks joints. The TV series he was working on at the time, The Lazarus Man, was doing well but was ultimately cancelled. His failing health was cited as the reason. Urich ultimately died from this disease, although he continued to appear in film and TV during treatment. His final TV series role was in the sitcom Emeril in 2001.
Alvin Lee
was born Graham Barnes, 19 December 1944 in Nottingham, England. He is an English guitarist. Appearing at the Woodstock Festival, Lee's performance was captured on film in the documentary of the festival and his playing helped catapult him into stardom, and soon the band was playing arenas and stadia around the globe..The 1980s brought another change in Lee's direction, with two albums that were strong collaborations with Rare Bird's Steve Gould and an extensive tour with the former John Mayall and Rolling Stones' guitarist Mick Taylor joining his band.
Tim Reid
was born December 19, 1944 in Norfolk, Virginia . He is an American actor and film director best known for his roles in prime time television programs.Tim Reid was a member of the Nation's first black and white stand up comedy team known as TIM & TOM. He and comedian Tom Dreesen formed the act in 1968 and performed together for the better part of four years. A book on TIM & TOM, written by Vince Sanders, was published in 2006.
He also directed and adapted a children's TV show called "Bobobobs" which aired in the late 80s.
Albert William Kaline
was born December 19, 1934 in Baltimore, Maryland. He is a former Major League Baseball player. Kaline was active from 1953 to 1974 and spent his entire career with the Detroit Tigers (hence the nickname "Mr. Tiger"), he was known for his strong throwing arm. He once threw out two baserunners at home in the same inning. Near the end of his career, he also played at first base and, in his last season, was the Tigers' designated hitter.becoming the youngest player ever to win a major league batting title, Kaline finished his career with 3,007 hits (25th on the all-time list) and 399 home runs (a Tigers record and 43rd on the all-time list..Since retiring from the playing field, Kaline has lived in the Detroit area, and has remained active within the Tigers organization..He is ranked Number 76 on The Sporting News' list of the 100 Greatest Baseball Players,

David Susskind
was born December 19, 1920 - February 22, 1987 in n New York City. He was a producer of quality TV, movies, and stage plays and also a pioneer TV talk show host. His first job was as a press agent for Warner Brothers, which probably fancied hiring a Harvard man. Next he was a talent agent for Century Artists, ultimately ending up in the powerhouse Music Corporation of America's fairly-newly-minted television program department, managing Dinah Shore, Jerry Lewis, and others.During his almost 30-year run as a talk show host, Susskind covered many controversial topics of the day, such as race relations and the Vietnam War.He suffered a heart attack and died in New York City. One commentator has pointed out the irony in that the man who sold Willy Loman to a nationwide audience himself died alone in a hotel room at the early age of 66.

was born on 19 December 1902 - 10 October 1983 in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England. He was an English actor, one of a group of theatrical knights of the mid-20th century who, though more closely associated with the stage, did their best to make the transition to film. Richardson made his West End debut in 1926. Thereafter he became one of the Old Vic Theatre's major stars, one of his early big roles being Caliban to the Prospero of John Gielgud, a professional association that lasted for four decades From 1954 - 1955 he played the character of Dr. John Watson (mistakenly called 'James' in several episodes) in an American/BBC radio co-production of canonical Sherlock Holmes stories, which starred Gielgud as the famous consulting detective and featured Orson Welles as the villainous Professor Moriarty..His film appearances included The Citadel, The Heiress (his first nomination for an Academy Awardrecorded the narration for Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf, and the superscriptions for Vaughan Williams' Sinfonia Antartica - both with the London Symphony Orchestra, the Prokofiev conducted by Sir Malcolm Sargent and the Vaughan Williams by Andre Previn.

Ralph Richardson was a great actor. He starred in my late wife's favorite movie, "The Heiress." I often watched David Susskind's interviews. I wouldn't miss reading any of these great hubs!
