Betty Friedan was born February 4, 1921 in Peoria, Illinois. She was an American feminist, activist and writer. She wrote for The Federated Press and worked for the United Electrical Workers' UE News. After leaving UE News, she became a freelance writer, and wrote for various magazines, including Cosmopolitan and is best known for starting the "Second Wave" of feminism through the writing of her book The Feminine Mystique. She died of heart failure February 4, 2006 aged 85.

Rosa Parks was born February 4, 1913 in Tuskegee, Alabama . She was an African American civil rights activist who became famous for refusing to obey bus driver James Blake's order that she give up her seat to make room for a white passenger. This action started the Montgomery Bus Boycott, which is one of the largest movements against racial segregation. She died from progressive dementia October 24, 2005, aged 92.
