The layout for these rounds are exactly the same as for rounds 1 through 6.
Round 7
73. Bosox
Matt Cassel
A top 10 qb after this year. KC is going to throw, throw and throw all year long.
74. Birdz
Donald Brown
A potential sleeper pick here especially with since he is slightly faster than Addai.
75. I love my wife
Bernard Berrian
He fell short of 1,000 yards but he is a nice sleeper to break that this year. If Farve does come back this guy will be a solid No. 2 wr for any fantasy team.
76. Show Stoppers
Owen Daniels
Look for the same numbers as last year with an increase in the tds.
77. Big Daddies
Fred Taylor
He probably will get 5-10 carries a game and good for 50-75 yards. I would only draft him as a bye week option.
78. Working Tile
Santonio Holmes
He will forever be remembered for his Super Bowl catch. He is an overvalued player though. Let someone else draft him.
79. The Champs
Ben Roethlisberger
Over rated. Big Ben had a career year in 07 and won't throw 32 tds again. Expect around 20 tds for the over rated clock tower.
80. Tuna Tasters
Chris Cooley
Cooley had a great year with catches and yards but was disappointing with only 1 td. Expect more tds this year.
81. Jets
Kellen Winslow
He is in Tampa now and could enjoy a solid year. Injury risk but the reward might be worth it.
82. Tigers
Santana Moss
He is always a solid wr. Last year he started off so hot but really cooled off. He is a poor man's Steve Smith.
83. Spot Filler
Pittsburgh D
Should be the top D taking in most drafts. If you really want them you'll have to take them around round 7-8.
84. Gmen
Dustin Keller
Chris Baker is gone and Keller should enjoy a nice year. If Sanchez wins the job, he will look to his tight end a lot. Sleeper.
Round recap:
A few Super Bowl Champs went in this round (Santonio Holmes, Big Ben, and Steelers D). Out of the 3 I would want the Steelers D. Matt Cassel will be a top ten qb this year. There were 4 solid tight ends were picked in Daniels, Cooley, Winslow, and Keller. Out of the 4 I like Daniels the best.
Best pick: Matt Cassel. He is a solid qb and has some nice pieces in KC. They will be down a lot of games so they will look to throw a lot.
Worst pick: Fred Taylor. They have five running backs who all will share the rock. They will use him wisely which isn’t good news for fantasy owners.
Round 8
85. Gmen
Jerricho Cotchery
Good hands but with new coach Rex Ryan in town look for a more conservative offense. He should be good in PPR leagues though.
86. Spot Filler
Anthony Gonzalez
A sleeper who will look to break out in his 3rd year with the Colts. 65 catches, 1,000 yards and 6 tds.
87. Tigers
Tennessee D
They lost Haynesworth and D Coordinator Jim Schwartz but they should still be a top 5 D.
88. Jets
LeSean McCoy
Sleeper alert. Westbrook is always hurt and this Pitt star has all the goods Westbrook has.
89. Tuna Tasters
Eli Manning
If you average all the qbs numbers, you'll probably get numbers that Manning will put up this year. Average numbers.
90. The Champs
Torry Holt
Perhaps the most disappointing wr last year, Holt will look for a fresh start in Jax. He is a low end No. 2 or flex option at best. Pass.
91. Working Tile
Steve Breaston
He enjoyed a break out year last year with 77 catches and breaking 1,000 yards. This is a high octane offense.
92. Big Daddies
Baltimore D
I think they will be overvalued for a D and will drop out of the top 5.
93. Show Stoppers
Laveranues Coles
Coles is now in Cinncy. His value has decreased and his age has increased. He will be an average wr at best.
94. I love my wife
Jeremy Shockey
He is over rated. He will be hurt by week 5 and it will be a nagging injury that will linger the rest of the season.
95. Birdz
Tim Hightower
He had 10 tds but his 2.8 YPC isn't very good. Hightower is a 3rd down back and Wells will be the starter.
96. Bosox
Willis McGahee
See Le'Ron McClain. A flex option in a deep league.
Round recap:
Defenses will start to go in most drafts around this round. As well as teams taking their sleeper wr or rb. There were a few sleepers who I like that went in this round. Anthony Gonzalez is a sleeper on a high powered offense and will look to break out in his third year. LeSean McCoy is a rookie out of Pitt that will look to back up Westbrook in Philadelphia. He has Westbrook skills with better durability.
Best pick: Steve Breaston. He will get over looked because he is a number 3 wr but he puts up number 2 numbers. They will run a ton of 3 wr sets and look for Breaston to improve on last year’s numbers.
Worst pick: Torry Holt. Most Jaguar wrs come to die and that is what Holt will do. Someone might look for him to rebound. Hopefully that dope is in your league.
Round 9
97. Bosox
Ahmad Bradshaw
He is powerful and quick. He will spell Jacobs a lot and even split carries with him in some games. He could top 1,000 yards rushing behind that O-line.
98. Birdz
Kevin Walter
A sleeper wr last year and he didn't disappoint with his 8 tds. If his qb can play a full season look for Walter to come close to 1,000 yards and get around 6-8 tds.
99. I love my wife
New York Giants D
They get Osi back and should be one of the top Ds. Expect the D to carry this team.
100. Show stoppers
Jamel Lewis
He plays for the Browns. He is 30. But he is the only decent option in the Browns backfield.
101. Big Daddies
Donald Driver
He is a nice player and is good for 70 catches and 1,000 yards. We will see about those tds. I will say 6.
102. Working Tile
Tony Scheffler
He had a 16.1 YPC avg witch is insane for a tight end. He probably won't get the time you would expect with Josh McDaniels offense which relies on a tight end that can block.
103. The Champs
Cedric Benson
He wears a shirt that says he is a bust. He is slow. And he might be the Bengals best option. Yikes!
104. Tuna Tasters
Earnest Graham
He is coming off an ankle injury and the Bucs inked Ward. He will get the lesser end of the carries with Ward. Though he could be the goal line option.
105. Jets
Rashard Mendenhall
A sleeper coming off shoulder injury, he should take over the starting job before season's end. That is if he controls his fumble problems.
106. Tigers
John Carlson
He enjoyed a nice rookie year. Expect much of the same going into next year. Solid player on a terrible team.
107. Spot Filler
Stephen Gostkowski
Why waste a pick on a kicker this early? Wait till your last round to get your kicker.
108. Gmen
Nate Washington
A new home in Tennessee. He can be considered their No. 1 but he will give you No. 3 numbers.
Round recap:
Not a good round of picks here. I do like the value of a starting running back going here in round 9 in Jamel Lewis. Mendenhall is a sleeper who could be the guy at season’s end in Pittsburgh. He has to prove he is healthy and that he can control his fumble problem. Kevin Walter is an under rated player who can reach 1,000 yards and get a fair amount of catches and touch downs.
Best pick: Jamel Lewis. He is a starting running back with no competition. Although, I am not terribly high on him, he is outstanding value in round 9.
Worst pick: Stephen Gostkowski. He is a freaking kicker! Don’t waste a 9th round pick on any kicker. At least wait till you picked your backup Defense to get one.
Round 10
109. Gmen
Felix Jones
This cat is quick and can take any play to the house. Look for around 6 tds from this sleeper back.
110. Spot Filler
Sammy Morris
He probably is the favorite rb of Belichick. That doesn't say much since they have 5 solid rbs. He might have the most tds out of the bunch though.
111. Tigers
Ray Rice
Probably the best of the 3 rbs in Baltimore, but the team is committed to a committee.
112. Jets
Devin Hester
Good pick taking a shot on Hester here. With Cutler's strong arm Hester will be able to go deep a few times a game. Sleeper alert.
113. Tuna Tasters
Kevin Curtis
Not worth anything here. This team rotates their wrs too much for him to have impacted value. Take a guy with upside instead.
114. The Champs
Michael Crabtree
Stud player. Dud team. The 49ers will be so conservative and he will have minimum impact if any.
115. Working Tile
Minnesota D
They had a disappointing year after their breakout year in 07. Don't reach.
116. Big Daddies
Joe Flacco
He will be compared to Matt Ryan every year. He has some upside but don't expect it this year.
117. Show Stoppers
Philadelphia D
They love to blitz. I see this D being a vicious one. They will give up some points but they will get the turnovers.
118. I love my wife
Shonn Greene
This big 227 pound animal is the favorite to get the goal line carries. He could be a nice surprise and is good value here in the 10th round.
119. Birdz
Carolina D
The panthers D were a big part of their 12-4 season. They rank on the lower end of the top 10 Ds.
120. Bosox
New York Jets D
Sleeper D. Expect the Jets D to keep them in games and for them to break the top 5.
Round recap:
This is the start of the rounds where fantasy players can get antsy and just draft the top guy that is left on the list. That is where you take control and draft a guy with upside. Guys like Felix Jones, Ray Rice, and even Michael Crabtree. If both Jones and Rice get their chance they will look to run away. They are the perfect breakout candidates in their 2nd year in the NFL. I think Crabtree will be a terrific player one day but I am not high on him this year. I like the pick though because he has that upside potential where as a guy like Curtis has already reached his peak (small hill). Hester and Greene are sleeper guys. Keep your radar on them.
Best pick: New York Jets D. Believe it or not a defense is the best pick this round. They remind me of Minnesota D going into the 07 draft. They will be in the top 5 in scoring D this year.
Worst Pick: Joe Flacco. There are other qbs out there like Palmer and Garrard who are better. I think Flacco will have more growing steps this year.
Round 11
121. Bosox
Greg Olsen
With Jay Cutler in town I look for Greg Olsen to have a big year. Biggest sleeper te going into the year. Great value here in round 11.
122. Birdz
Chris Chambers
The only reason why you should draft him is because it is his contract year. I don’t see a big pay day coming for Chris.
123. I love my wife
Donnie Avery
He has blazing speed but he is tiny. He will probably have big games and then have those terrible ones. Be prepared and don't have high expectations.
124. Show stoppers
Derrick Mason
Every year people say he is old and a bust. But he keeps producing solid numbers. No reason to expect anything less.
125. Big Daddies
Leon Washington
Washington was a nice surprise last year. He won't come close to those 8 tds he had with rookie Shonn Greene around.
126. Working Tile
Carson Palmer
If he is healthy he is able to produce 4,000 yards and 20 plus tds. Something tells me he won't be healthy. Just a hunch.
127. The Champs
Miami D
Another solid D in the AFC east. Expect them to build on last year's success.
128. Tuna Tasters
Ted Ginn Jr.
He is quick and I see him coming close to 1,000 yards receiving. Look for about 60 catches, a high YPC, and low td total.
129. Jets
New England D
They should be better than they were last year.
130. Tigers
Mason Crosby
No one cares about an analysis about a kicker do they?
131. Spot Filler
Fred Jackson
With Marshawn Lynch suspension, Jackson has a chance to prove he is deserves a bigger role when Lynch returns. A must have handcuff for Lynch owners.
132. Gmen
Tashard Choice
A nice player but he will need an injury to Barber or Jones to have a fantasy impact.
Round recap:
Quite a few young players went in this round with Olsen, Avery, Ginn, Jackson, and Choice. Out of the bunch Olsen is the best, even as a tight end. Culter tends to have good chemistry with his tight end, and Olsen will have a break out year. He may be a poor man’s Jason Witten. Jackson is a solid backup running back to have and he should start a few games for the suspended Lynch.
Best pick: Greg Olsen. If there is one tight end as your sleeper this year this is the guy. I have huge man love for this guy and my expectations are high.
Worst pick: Mason Crosby. He is a freaking kicker! Wait till the last round to draft your kicker.
Round 12
133. Gmen
Dallas D
Big D will look for the D to help keep them in a lot of close games. They are always a solid choice.
134. Spot Filler
Jeremy Maclin
The 1st round pick for the Eagles might have a nice career ahead of him but he will probably put up ok numbers on a team that rotates their wr constantly.
135. Tigers
David Garrard
A solid backup and bye week option. Enough said.
136. Jets
Justin Gage
He will be one of those guys with the line of 4 catches and 45 yards per game. Kerry Collins is back as the game manager I mean qb.
137. Tuna Tasters
Chicage D
Over rated. Most of their numbers went the opposite directions from 07 to 08. Let someone else draft them.
138. The Champs
David Akers
He had a career year last year. But he is a kicker so I am sure you don't care too much.
139. Working Tile
Justin Fargas
He probably will start the first week or two, but he will give way to McFadden and Bush as the year goes on. Stay Away.
140. Big Daddies
Patrick Crayton
He will look to beat out Miles Austin for the No.2 wr in big D. If he wins he could be a sleeper.
141. Show Stoppers
Trent Edwards
He has TO but how long before he gets accused of creating secret plays with Lee Evens. You could do worse for your back up.
142. I love my wife
Jamaal Charles
Charles's value depends on what goes on with LJ. I see the Chiefs being a pass heavy team this year. Charles’s value will be limited.
143. Birdz
Edgerrin James
Depends where he signs. He won't have too much of an impact. Save your pick on a guy with upside rather than a guy with limited side.
144. Bosox
Kyle Orton
Sleeper. He has wife beater Brandon Marshall, speedy Eddie Royal, and a solid tight end. 3,500 yards and 20 tds for a late round qb isn't too shabby.
Round recap:
This round may have been one of the worst rounds for all the players getting picked. There are a few okay guys who I like and there are a few guys who I don’t like. Jason Witten said Patrick Crayton has shown up to camp and looks quicker and more explosive. If he wins the number 2 job he can be a nice sleeper but he would be equal to a number 3 wr since they already have Witten and Williams. I do like Jeremy Maclin the best for fantasy impacted out of all the rookie receivers this year. I am not expecting huge numbers but I wouldn’t be surprised if he is starting for some fantasy teams at the end of the year.
Best pick: Kyle Orton. He is a decent quarterback on a team full of weapons. I like Josh McDaniels a lot and I think he can maximize Orton’s value.
Worst pick: David Akers. Another kicker and another bad pick. Fill the rest of your team before you draft your kicker.
That completes rounds 7 through 12 of this 2009 fantasy football mock draft.
