The much awaited official sequel to the highly successful first person shooter game, Far Cry, is scheduled for October 2008. While the first version released in 2008, was available for only PCs, Far Cry 2 will be released for PS3 and Xbox 360 as well. Ubisoft's developers actually spent several weeks in Africa researching the environment and the fauna to create more realistic graphics for the game. The main character of the first version, Jack Carver, will not be appearing in Far Cry 2. But players will have a choice of 9 chaaracters to play in this latest game with stunning graphics and game play.

The entire game, Far Cry 2, will take place one one map of about 50 square kilometers in a fictional, central African country that is in turmoils of civil war. The back ground scenery will range from deserts to jungles. From looking at the screenshots and trailor videos, the graphics are much much better than Crysis and all other first person shooter game that is released so far.

According to the recent news Ubisoft will not be releasing a demo for the game prior to its holiday release which might be a little frustrating for the game lovers. Now, watch some videos of the game.
