Proximity cards and multifunction smart cards are being used with increasing frequency by government, large corporations and financial instutions. These cards must be more durable and capable than a standard identification card.

Since 1999, Fargo has produced high definition card printers which produce these more durable and secure cards--often incorporated with a smart or prox card. In these past years, Fargo has improved their high definition processes and now presents its fastest, easiest printer with lower printing costs.

Features of High Definition Printing are:

• Printing--the card printer prints a reverse image on the underside of the HDP film and then fusing the film to the card surface. Improved images are provided with this method of printing.
• Over the edge and to the edge of smart chip cards can be printed with this printer.
• Additional security is provided by the HDP film as well as reduced wear and tear of the card. The HDP film layer protects the image and card.

The printer has an ethernet port and print server for networked applications.

PRINT METHOD: HDP dye-sublimation/resin thermal transfer and it prints at 300 dpi

PRINT SPEED:

• Full color YMC (750 prints) is 38 seconds per card
• Full color with resin black YMCK (500 prints) is 46 seconds per card
• Full color with two resin black panels YMCKK (500 prints) is 70 seconds per card
• Dual sided & simultaneous lamination would add additional seconds
