Farm Town on Facebook
One of my very favorite Facebook applications: Farm Town. Farm Town is a fun activity to do on Facebook where someone makes a farm, plows fields, harvests and sells crops, take care of a garden, tend to animals, and much, much more. In this hub, you will learn about Farm Town, what to do, how to do it, helpful tips, and other general info about this awesome game/app.
The Basics
As I said above, the main objective of Farm Town is basically to generate a good farm and make lots of money, or coins. It’s very simple and fast to make a Farm Town. If you want to go ahead and get started, search “Farm Town” at the search engine when logged into the Facebook home page. Click on the application and find a button that says something like Make a Farm or Start Now. It will bring up a page of an old farmer. Simply answer the questions (i.e. gender, eye color, hair color) and get your free farm. It will already give you some crops that are ready to be harvested, some fields that are plowed, and some halfway harvested crops. Now, lets learn the ropes and get acquainted with the page and expressions.
Once at the page with your farm in the middle, you can look at the bottom and see 12 buttons. These are (left to right, top to bottom) zoom in/out, spanning your farm, walk, plow, harvest, toolbox with a camera, watering can, and destroy button, buddy list, trophies, store, gifts, storage, and map where you can choose to go to the marketplace, bank, Inn, or realtor office. Your neighbors are to the far left at the bottom.
Click any one of these buttons, and you will automatically do that. For instance, if you click on the plow tool, you will automatically wield the plow tool. So now you are ready to start. You will want to start by plowing your land and planting as many crops as you can. Since you are only the first level, you can plant grapes. To plant grapes, click on the store, select seeds, and click ‘buy’ on the grape seeds. You will now go back to your farm wielding a bag of grapes. Click the bag of grapes on the plowed fields to plant them. By doing this, you will see that you will loose coins (by buying the grapes) and then gain experience, which you will need to level up. 4 hours later (that’s how long grapes take to harvest), you can harvest the grapes. Click the harvest tool and click on the grapes. You will be given an option to sell immediately, but you want to store them so you can make lots more coins. Store all the grapes, go to the store, follow the directions, and then sell the grapes for money. You can do this process over and over again with whatever seeds you want to plant. You can also buy trees, animals, flowers, and a lot more stuff from the store.
Making a Good Farm
Some tips for making a good farm are very easy to follow. Five simple steps: Buy seeds, plow fields, harvest crops, sell crops for money, and buy cool stuff. It’s as easy as that! Harvest the crops that make good money. So plow, and instead of harvesting grapes every single time, start growing something that will generate you more revenue, if you can afford it of course. Keep getting experience to up your level!!
Farm Town Tips
After playing Farm Town a while now, I have learned many new tips and tricks you can use to help better your level and farm. Here are some:
-Plow around your schedule. If you plant a corn field, it takes 3 days to get ready to harvest; after those 3 days, you have 3 more days to harvest. If you don’t do it, they will all die wasting a lot of your cash. So if you are going to be gone for a week or so, don’t plant anything!
-When boosting your level, one easy thing to do is buy things, like hedges, and set them up around your farm. You get almost 60 experience points for each hedge! They will drain your wallet, but it is a great way to boost your level.
-Send gifts to people to get gifts back for free.
-When a window pops up with another farmer asking you to help them, do it! Its free coins and good, free experience points. Never miss an opportunity to do this.
These are just a few of many helpful tips.
Recent Update
There was a recent update September 5, 2009. Farm Town now has FarmCash, just dollar bills now. You start out with 5 and you can turn coins into cash. I haven’t really learned the ropes to the FarmCash, but you need it to buy hedges or other things. You can also buy new stuff like a picnic set, outhouse, hedges, and a whole lot of stuff.
So if I were to rate this game, I would absolutely give it a 10 rating. I see nothing wrong with this game! Its really a great game you should check out! Add me as your neighbor :)
Also, if you have any questions or advice about FarmTown, never hesitate to email me or messgae me, whatever is fine.
