Farms Boat Club Race #1 2nd Half 8-5-06
I took these pictures last night before and during the Farms Boat Club's Thursday evening race. The wind was blowing 15 out of the north-northwest with higher gusts and frequent oscillations. This made for interesting sailing and race committee work. Some of us had trouble finding the second mark, and several boats put up jibs that were too big for the conditions. This was true of Express 27 Das Boot which used a #2 genoa and watched S2 9.9 Gypsy and E27 Lorax sail away on the first leg which was a beat. We felt like we were sailing on San Francisco Bay for a change. The front brought relief from the 90-100 degree temperatures of the past 3-4 days. It also made for interesting clouds for your photographer to work with while trying to keep his boat upright.

Thanks Ralph for sending me these "hub" sights, both sailing and political. You have quite a collection. Enjoyed the variety.
