Fashion Report: Yellow Fever!!!
60Spring/Summer
Spring weather is coming soon. With it, the clear skies with small puffy white clouds, and the golden sunshine make us feel like wearing bright colors all the time. It is common that we associate spring and summer with white, light blue, yellow, green, pink... The stores' windows have already outfits with these colors and alternate between solid colors or prints. Geometric prints "kinda sixties" and flower prints "kinda seventies" are coming strong on the new collections.
Yellow is one of the bright colors that started its trend statute last year and persisted for this year. Yellow, yellow, yellow! All tones of yellow are in! Pale yellow, strong yellow, bright yellow, lemon yellow, it is absolutely your choice which yellow you are going to dress!
Yellow fever started on 2007 when our beloved stars presented themselves in several events with yellow dresses. Reese Witherspoon appeared stunning and glowing in a Nina Ricci bright yellow dress on the Golden Globes. On the red carpet she looked amazing coordinating her sexy dress with red shoes and light make up. Straight hair and light red lips made her look at her best. She was nominated as one of the best dressed artists and it is easy to understand why! Drew Barrymore showed up with a Carolina Herrera yellow dress that made her look pretty and fresh. That yellow dress seemed to bring out of her the playful and young spirit she is. Green shoes and not many accessories made her toilette and the covergirl was on the top! On Cannes International Film Festival, Angelina Jolie broke the grey vow she seemed to have on 2006. The sadness over her mother's death could be one of the reasons and it is totally understandable. Glad to see her looking like the sexy and beautiful woman she is in a Ungaro lemon ice long dress. The up do was undone and the long brown hair fell on her shoulders and dress giving her a romantic look. She was amanzingly in and was voted as the best dressed artist on the festival.
Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2008
New York fashion week, Milan fashion week and Paris fashion week brought to our knowledge the best of the haute couture. Yellow was presented by many designers in different styles. Versace presented a beautiful long dress with solid yellow from head to toes. Fendi dress has golden stripes on a paler yellow beackground dress. Gucci showed yellow mixed up with a black and white short dress in a more cosmopolitan style.
Haute Couture

Versace designed a lovely yellow short dress that can be actually worn by anyone at any time. Betsey Johnson in an american girlie style draws a dress with a freshy green and yellow print. Biba presents a Londoner style of dress while Ellie Saab shows us a long evening yellow dress. Zac Posen, Michael Kors and Lacroix prefer only one color evening dresses while Dior, Valentino, Dolce Gabanna choose prints. Dolce Gabanna plays with the contrast of bright yellow with dark purple while Valentino prefers a romantic flower pattern as a print for the dress. Meanwhile, yellow doesn't have to be worn exclusively. Gucci had shown yellow, black and white and the same trend is followed by Ralph Lauren. Yellow detail in the middle of black and white seems to look really nice. Oscar de La Renta shows a multi colored print in which yellow is mixed up with red and green.
Pret a Porter
Haute Couture dictates the trends all over the world but it is only reachable for some people. The prices are too much high for being affordable to a common person. By common I mean a person who doesn't live in Hollywood and has a cachet like our stars. We love our stars, that's true! However, we must love ourselves as well! And that is why pret a porter is so important. Pret a Porter or Ready to wear is the fashion we can reach in our stores in our cities. Accessorize!!!
Yellow does not have to be worn on clothes. Moschino opted for accesssories instead of clothes to show his view of the trend. Because yellow is usually associated with life and happiness, yellow accessories can give a touch of joy to your outfit. It doesn't matter if you are wearing black, blue or green, brown or white, yellow goes well with all these colors and the result can be quite awesome. Yellow shoes or yellow bags make the delights of this season and in a summer warm afternoon are very pleasant to see. Shoes can either be high heels and elegant shape, sexy or flats. Nice and confortable flats made to walk the city down and up are shown bellow. Nike and Adidas have yellow in their run shoes collection. The thing is, your fashion is you, so be creative! Mix everything up and enjoy the result. Most of all, fashion is a way of communicating, so there are no rules. A trend is just a trend so if you really don't like yellow, don't buy it just because it's in. True beauty comes from inside and there is nothing nicer than wearing what we really like. Be yourself!!!
