Have you in ever been on a diet before?

What types of things come to mind when you think of the word diet? Yep, I'm sure you're thinking the right things. That's exactly what I think of as well when I think of dieting.

All the diet books and the like may also come to mind, the no-this diet, the all-that diet, the little-bit-of-this diet, the don't-change-a-thing-eat-this diet. You know them.

I could go on and on the rest of time listing different diets, but that would just be horribly boring.

As a Personal Trainer In Spokane WA, I like to just go to the local bookstore and browse the health & fitness section. If you do this, you'll see scads of diet books, probably 10, 20, or 50 you've never even heard of as well.

So why is it that cases of obesity are on the rise in the U.S.?

That's excatly what I want to cover today. My best fat-burning tip I can possibly think of. So powerful it will make your quest for Spokane weight loss automatic and a near guaranteed success.

I want to change your whole perception on how you view weight loss. Let's think for a second, in order for someone to gain weight they have to have a lifestyle for them to have the surplus of calories. The weight didn't just cling on to them overnight.

For some people it may take years of gaining weight to get to their current level. So why are people jumping on products like the Hollywood 48 – hour miracle diet. As I said it before, they want it fast, they don't want to accept that it will take time to take off excess weight. If it took you 10 years to accumulate the excess weight, it is not going to come off in 1 month or even 6 months for some people. Weight loss is not an event it is a process!

What you need to do

People don't need diets, they need to change their lifestyle. If you fix the habits or the actions that have caused the excess weight to be put on, you can cause the weight to come off almost automatically, if you just clean up some of your daily habits.

As a Personal Trainer In Spokane WA, I always suggest my clients start small. For example if you usually drink 1 can of soda every day with your lunch, if you exchange that for water, just that one simple action every day, you will have lost nearly 16 pounds in one year, just from that one tiny little change in your habits.

Let's say you add 30 minutes of physical activity just 4 times a week, to burn 200 calories each time which is a low estimate, there's another 12 pounds. For some of you how about a Krispy Creme glazed donut 3 times a week at work, in a year that's yet another 11 pounds.

You see, these are just simple little conscious actions that you can take throughout each day. A great way to lose scads of weight is to just drink water all day long, instead of any other beverages, not only will you get the extra benefit of staying hydrated, but you will also skip the extra calories from any other soda's or fruit juices. How about switching to skim milk instead of 2%, while that may not be for some of you, it's just an idea of how simple taking away a few calories here and some extra calories there can be.

Losing weight doesn't have to be restrictive or obsessive in any sense of the word. Weight loss should be the result of a specific lifestyle. If you are just looking for a quick fix diet, the word diet alone implies that you will at one point come off of the diet, and quite possibly gain all the weight back in a short period of time. It all comes back to what your lifestyle is like, this is what will ultimately determine what your weight will be.

An example, I'm sure may have heard of someone getting liposuction or some other form of weight reduction surgery, often times they just gain every bit back, they got their quick fix but in the end there lifestyle just puts it back on.

If you are not in a rush it is always easier. If you just took one single year, and week by week, started to improve on areas of your nutrition or physical activity, by the end of the year, I'm certain that you will have seen significant progress, just from those slight changes. How about an example outside of the fitness industry. Lottery winners, they get their get rich quick scheme, but in the end, many of them are just as poor as they were before, because there original lifestyle catered to that style of living, wasteful or whatever it may be. Although they got a lucky break with the winnings, their habits of spending, attitudes toward money and no savings ultimately put them right back at where they started.

I know a friend, who along with his wife had an average income for Spokane. A while back they got an inheritance from his parents. Within one month, they had bought two new cars, some in home appliances, huge TV's and sound systems, and over $100,000 was gone in no time.

So if you are looking for the get rich quick or this case lose weight now scheme, I urge you to reconsider your view on how you should go about losing weight. As I'm sure you would like to stay at your ideal body weight when you get there rather than gain it all back again when you go off of a diet. You may have heard the term yo-yo dieting, that's exactly what dieting does, your body weight goes down and then back up, in a cyclical fashion, rather than just staying down which is what a lifestyle change would result in.

I hope to have enlightened you on why diets ultimately always fail, and why you should view weight loss as more than just a temporary fix, but as a lifestyle change! So please don't be like a yo-yo, be more like a rock, when a rock is dropped it just drops, and stays down.
