49After a certain age, generally women face the problem of obesity. Due to obesity, a lot of health troubles start emerging. Generally after marriage women start ignoring their health and especially after the age of 30 years this ignorance increases. This results in obesity and start of a lot of health troubles. After 40 years of age, women should give extra care to their health because there is increased risk of troubles due to change in hormones. Any ignorance at such an age might give invitation to obesity. Let us see what are the main reasons of obesity and how could one save oneself ->
1. Tension : This the biggest reason for obesity. Persons who are tenser are more prone to have obesity. Many a times its been observed that women start eating more when they are tense and this invites obesity. People move towards fatty substances to finish off their hunger and such food gives them increased weight.
Side Effects: (a) There is accumulation of fat in body.
(b) Increased risk of heart diseases.
Treatment: (a) When in tension, try eating healthy food instead of fatty .
(b) Do swimming or jogging for half an hour.
2. Lack of evaporation: In one day, at least 3-4 liters of water intake in necessary. Those who work in air-conditioned offices face the problem of lack of water evaporation. The extra water that remains in body gives ballooning effect.
Side effect: (a) abnormal accumulation of water
(b) High blood pressure and cardiac troubles
Remedy: Drink just adequate amt of water, cadiography might help one in finding how much water he/she should consume in a day.
3. Abnormal thyroid activity: Abnormality in thyroid gland functioning result in obesity. Slow metabolism results in increased weight.
Side effect: Constipation, dry skin, less sweating, abnormal menstruation.
Remedies: (a) thyroid therapy
(b) Don’t eat vegetables like cabbage and cauliflower.
(c) Do not drink chilled water.
4. Hypercorticism: This is a kind of disorder, which is caused due to excess secretion of cortisol hormone. This results in fat being deposited on face, stomach, collarbone and upper back.
Side effect: Scaly skin, hair fall, and increase in sweat, insomnia
Remedy: Try to keep weight balanced by exercises, use hormone therapy to balance the disorder.
5. Drugs: Medicines to reduce stress, cardiac drugs, oral contraceptives, and such medicines that affect hormonal activities might result in abnormal hormone levels which in turn result in obesity.
Side effect: Increase in hunger which results in high intake of food and irregular eating of junk food results in increased weight.
Remedy: If you feel that taking certain medicine has resulted in abnormal increase in hunger and weight increase, consult your physician to change the medicine or to suggest some alternative path.
How to avoid: (a) One should eat slowly, properly chewing eat bite.
(b) Keep some interval between two bites.
(c) One should take about 15 min in taking a breakfast, 25 min in lunch and about 30 min in taking dinner.
(d) Avoid eating while reading, chatting on phone, writing or watching television.
(e) Always try to keep and eat fresh healthy and nutritious food.
