Don't lose the love of your dog by giving them foods that will make them sick or harm them

Feeding your dogs from the table is a habit that many of us get into we just seem to take for granted that if we can eat it our dogs can eat it too. There are some people foods that are harmful or toxic to dogs, some that will cause seizures or death. There are some things that dogs should never eat to prevent disasters and these things are foods that we eat everyday. Some of the foods on the list I knew that dogs shouldn't eat, but there are many that I never knew could be dangerous to dogs.

Foods that should never be fed to Dogs

Onions and garlic can destroy the red blood cells in a dog. Onions are worse than garlic and can eventually kill a dog if given enough of those. They can have breathing problems if they eat onions. Garlic isn't as bad, but still shouldn't be fed to a dog.

Tomatoes especially green tomatoes can cause problems with dogs. This can cause vomiting, diarrhea even comas and death. The plant is poisonous more then the tomato itself.

Potatoes: The potato peels are the most dangerous part of the potato for the dog. It can affect their nervous and urinary systems.

Raw Eggs: These are bad for dogs, can give them poisioning.

Fruits:

Grapes and raisins. These can cause kidney failure. Even just a few raisins can kill a dog.

Seeds from fruit: Such as Apple seeds, cherry, peach, plum pits all contain dangerous ingredients. These can be dangerous if the dog eats them or chews on them. Also if they are chewing on something like peach pit seed, they risk being choked if they swallow the seed.

Other Foods:

Tobacco: if they eat cigarettes this releases toxins though out their bodies, cause coma and death.

Chocolate: Dangerous to dogs, especially baker's chocolate. This can lead to death if the dog eats too much.

Nuts: Walnuts, macadamia nuts and other nuts should never be given to dogs due to toxins in the nuts. Not only cause it cause problems for the dog, it could kill them.

Milk, Ice cream other dairy products, this can cause diarrhea in pets, and make them ill.

Cat food: This is usually high in fat content which over the years can cause problems.

Some of the items on this list shocked me. It seems that I have been harming my dog by giving her some of these bad treats. She will be saddened to know that she will no longer get her ice cream that she loved so much. With summer almost here you will be outside more with your pet and while you may not feed these items to your dog, others may try.

There are many sites online that will give your more tips on Dog Training and care so that you can take care of your best friend and have them around for a long, long time.
