You think it's a waste of time since you have so many things to do. You keep on procrastinating and when the day is just around the corner you get scared and rush to the job done in a manner which you could have easily avoided if you had started a bit earlier. I am talking about father of the bride speeches. Whoever is reading this I hope that you aren't that bride's father whose daughter is getting married day after tomorrow. Well, you can still get it done but would have been better if you had taken the action at least a week ago.

First let me comfort you a bit by saying that it isn't a corporate presentation that you are giving here. So, if you stagger and trip here and there it doesn't going to be the end of the world for you or anybody for that matter. Get your ideas together, prepare a bit, be yourself while you speak and you will end up with a great father of the bride speech. The secret of an easy free flowing wedding speech is to keep it short, simple and be honest about what you say. And you need the confidence to speak to the hundred plus audience that you might be having as guests at your daughter's wedding reception party.

Father of the bride speeches generally don't have any format. You can begin your speech by welcoming the guests (with a special; mention of the groom's family). Tell the audience how happy you are that your daughter has found a good life partner in the groom. Well, even if you aren't too happy about the relationship in the making you wouldn't want to spoil the mood by saying something different, would you? A typical father of the bride speech should obviously show gratitude to all those who were in charge of the wedding arrangements. After you are done with those you can turn to your daughter and speak your heart out. You could get sentimental but that's acceptable. After all your beloved daughter will be leaving the family shortly and you have every reason to be emotional. I hope you are composed enough not to get overly emotional so much so that you couldn't complete your speech in a way you have loved to.

So, that's it. Now, the important thing is to take action. You can begin by browsing through different father of the bride speech samples to get some ideas on what you should be doing. Then you would want to create an outline of your speech. Once that is done you can simply go on adding words to it and before long you will come up with your own unique father of the bride speech.
