Fats: Saturated vs Unsaturated
64
There are many foods out there which make us feel as though we just want to go to sleep. Other times a sufficient amount of a couple types of food make us feel like we have all the energy in the world. This may be there are differences in the kind of fats we are eating: saturated versus unsaturated fats.
If one were so inclined to be perceptive in how certain types of food made them feel, then he or she should grade this on four levels (Mood, Mental Clarity, Energy, and Digestion). There is no doubt the ratio of saturated fats and so-called "good fats" can have an affect on our mental clarity. There are many types of fats out there and all our composed of fatty acids. All can be used to a certain degree.
Limited fats are composed of saturated, hydrogenated and trans-fats. Being termed limited fats means they can be utilized to a moderate amounts. Hydrogenated and trans-fats are both products of science-meaning they're starting product was adulterated to make an end product as such. All of these raise LDL (low-density lipoproteins)/bad cholesterol. Conversely, they lower HDL (high-density lipoproteins) or good cholesterol. How harmful they can be for one's health depend on their cholesterol levels.
Good fats are derived from fish and plants essentially. These are our unsaturated fats which are compiled of monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats. The prefix mono meaning one, helps to describe the single unit of good fats. Poly meaning many, helps to describe a chain of single units linked together in the molecule. Your Omega 3's, 6's and 9's are all different types of essential fatty acids which fall in the unsaturated fats category. Fish, flax and olive oil are some soures of these good fats just to name a few.
Certain amounts of animal products are necessary to consume in order for our bodies to absorb phytonutrients, from plants. It all depend on our type of expenditure vs. intake on how fast we can burn them and how efficiently they are burned. What you expend is dependant on what you put in. And vice versa. It's like a two way scale that moves up and down on both sides. The types of fat we choose to eat may have varying affects on the body depending on what type of activity we are encountering at a given time.

Thankyou
Very informative Hub. have you ever looked at the benefits of coconut oil?
Thankyou. Not really for consumption. I have read it as an ingredient in soap making for getting a good constitution. So topical usage. I think all oils derived from plants have benefits and many haven't been broken down yet to tell.
