One of my favorite hobbies is collecting vintage Generation I Transformer toys.  G1 Transformers are some of the more popular toys to survive the 80's and they are quite valuable often times.

The most popular Transformer from the Generation I series of cartoons is obviously Optimus Prime.  Optimus was the leader of the original series of Transformers cartoons.  He is the selfless, no-nonsense hero that always does anything it takes to protect those he is charged with.

Because he was so popular, there are many Optimus Prime G1 toys available and they are really fairly inexpensive when compared to other G1 Transformer figures.

The rarest of Transformer G1 toys is the elusive Fortress Maximus.  Fortress Maximus was the most expensive, largest Transformer ever created and is still considered the biggest.  He cost a whopping $99, which even by todays standards would be considered an expensive toy and this was 1985!

Getting started collecting Transformers toys is pretty simple and straighforward.  You can find them on eBay fairly easily and pretty cheap really.  Get started today!
