Favourite Crossdressing Outfits
81
As some of my readers will know, my boyfriend is a cross dresser and I asked him once what would be his dream outfit if he could choose anything he wanted. Some that he mentioned were bridal gowns with lots of layers of tulle, the sissy style dress with a full petticoat and the fishtail style evening dress again with a bouffant fishtail. He picked out the photo on the right as one of his favourite (pity its so expensive cause I'd REALLY like to see him in that).
Now I bet you noticed a recurring pattern as I did: full skirts with bouffant style slips. After surfing around on the subject I think it does seem that crossdressers often have a preference for very full dresses that you might only wear as a bride or princess costume.
Does anyone know why this is? My boyfriend said “because they’re the most feminine”. So do cross dressers always go for the most feminine outfits they can think of? He certainly does.
One thing I read into this is that cross dressers don’t just want to imitate girls or dress like them (because most women hardly ever wear anything like the kind of outfits my boyfriend describes). They want to exaggerate their femininity far beyond what women normally do. Is it a kind of compensation for the mega strict masculine dress code (i.e. anything not-feminine)? Perhaps crossdressers crave femininity, which makes sense if you imagine that you’ve never been allowed to experience anything feminine your entire life.
To me it doesn’t matter really. I’m just trying to understand the minds of these intriguing people. I guess I’m fascinated with the gender bending nature of cross dressers. How they provoke you into redefining your ideas of feminine and masculine behaviour and, not at last, how they look so beautiful and vulnerable that you want to just have them for breakfast – or before.
There's now a kind of follow up to this hub where I go more into detail about the various crossdressing outfits.

Thanks for your comment threesweds. So does that mean you keep it entirely secret that you crossdress or do you have someone at home who you share it with?
I do have a girlfriend who is supportive of my desire to wear women's lingerie. She doesn't yet accept me wearing dresses or going out dressed as a women, and that isn't really what I want either. We do go shopping together for lingerie and really enjoy the expressions and comments we get from sales clerks and other customers. I will ocassionally wear thin white women's slacks with brightly flowered panties and slightly padded bras just to get reactions from women. Shopping in the lingerie departments is the greatest! My lingerie collection includes may styles and colors of bras, panties, pantyhose, tights and stockings, garterbelts, girdles, and camisoles. It is quite exciting to be wearing lingerie at work under my male clothing, thinking I may be wearing the same lingerie as my female coworkers.
how can threesweds say he is not a crossdresser and then say he wears lingerie?
i think he has his wires crossed there.
but your first question in what are the outfits we crossdressers want to wear, i want to wear nice mid length skirt with a nice blouse my nails painted and my hair up in a pony tail with a ribbon in and unlike most of the people who say they are crossdressers i do dress like this most nights i go out and i go out just about every night i am not trying to pass as a woman no bra i dont have any boobs to put in there and seldom any makeup as it is to hot here in puerto rico to wear it.
i am not trying to be a woman i just like there clothes and hair styles.
if more men would just wear what they wanted then no one would have to hide what they do at home scared in case anyone saw them they would be accepted in what they wear just as any woman is accepted when she wants to wear a mans suit and tie.
What a great comment Pauls. I wish more men would be like that. Wear what you want regardless of male/female/marsian gender.
I would have been in heaven if I had a girlfriend like Lucy !
I'm a crossdresser myself (I do it very frequently, including in public) and while I agree that this is a very beautiful dress, I should point out that not all crossdressers are simply after the most feminine option.
It really comes down to your taste in clothes, just like how women have their own taste in clothes. Big, frilly dresses with petticoats and bridal gowns are lovely and very fun to wear, but I think they are best reserved for certain occasions and probably not my first choice.
Some of my get ups are clearly what would be called 'crossdressing' for a boy to wear but when a woman wears it she is deemed rather masculine. That's probably because I am drawn more to androgyny. Still, how many guys do you know who walk around in a plaid skirt and purple tights? XD
Sorry for rambling, I just thought I'd throw in my two cents and clarify that not every crossdresser is simply on a hunt for the girliest dress they can find.

Lucy, I'm not a cross dresser but would have to agree with your boyfriend that the dress shown above is certainly a tempting outfit. The abundance of lace and petticoats are a dream come true for a guy who enjoys wearing women's lingerie under his male clothes. It is easy and quite comfortable to wear panties, a bra, and pantyhose anywhere and any day of the week. I could only wear petticoats at home and then with a full skirt, that would be a rush. I think wearing women's lingerie does make me feel more feminine
