Let's Reveal The Real Michelle

Author’s Note: Half of the following was written tongue in cheek. It’s up to you to discover which half is satire and which is truth. As you know, satire is the lowest form of wit. Since this is only half satire, what does that make the author, a half-wit?
I don’t understand why when we elect a president the wife, she somehow believes we also elected her…There can be only one president.
Writer Kenneth Walsh of U.S. News and World Report differs. He says wives are usually an essential part of the governing team at the White House. Each takes on a project that reflect their core values, such as highway beautification for Lady Bird Johnson and the promotion of reading for Laura Bush. Michelle Obama’s “thing” is reaching out to war veterans’ families.

her husband, Maj. Ryan Kendall, an Iraq veteran, who joined her at her
husband’s March, 2009 address to a joint session of Congress. Hey, that's fine. But I've got this theory that presidents' wives really put ideas in their heads, too, or see themselves as being prime moves on major issues.
After Michelle got the hang of it - decided she needed a softer frontal personality - her approval ratings have gone up in the polls from 32 percent to 63 percent and only 8 percent negative.
Today's Michelle Obama has become what a senior Democratic strategist calls “a superstar.” It wasn’t always like that. About the time she, oops, Barak, was nominated by the Democrats she was the one who said “For the first time in my life I am proud of America.”

Why The Fearful Faces?
U.S. News says her outreach to the military “has important political implications.” Democrats are not known for their love of the U.S. military. Nonetheless, Michelle loves them and that’s all that counts because she rules her home and after five p.m. has the ear of the president. We all wonder if Mrs. Obama is being sincere or just shrewd. Historian Richard Norton Smith says that while he doesn’t doubt her sincerity, “you can be sincere and shrewd at the same time.” Really?

I’ve always had the naïve notion that these wives were just window dressing, assisting their hubbies write speeches, tying their ties, buffering them from inevitable depression and disappointments, and doing other off-stage things to help him.
And all along I’ve been wrong. Laura Bush’s reading sessions with kids were really a subversive plot of George Bush to reform our schools; Jackie Kennedy’s love of paintings and clothes was really a plot by Jack to get the economy moving; Lady Bird’s fixing up of all those old post offices was really a plot to put rural people to work. Think of it, we’ve been duped and it is all for the good of America! Dupe us once more, please, would you? Make us believe our dollar is not being dumped into the toilet, or if it is, it’s for a worthy cause.
I wonder what that would be?
But conventional wisdom has held that few voters cast ballots for president based on the candidate's spouse and that’s the case with Michelle Obama who had negative ratings before the election.

I think it is highly improper and bordering on illegal – isn’t it? – for a Mrs. President to take the lead in anything major while he is in office. Millions of Americans agree with me. Look at how Hillary Clinton’s health-care proposals bombed. She and it were soundly defeated when Bill was president. Democrats came away saying, “It was Hillary’s fault.”
It’s partly because of the “hate Sarah Palin” syndrome. She was a woman running the big state of Alaska and doing a good job. “How dare she try to run anything like the Vice presidency? That was, however, unlike the reception received by Christeen Todd Whitman (former New Jersey governor and Environmental Protection Agency Administrator under Bush and now a lobbyist),” The politicos didn’t hate her.

Why The Hate & Fear?
Americans hate it when someone comes between them and their president. Joe Biden is the perfect vice president. He’s a bland jokster. He just sits there and smiles benignly, applauding at times, playing the good guy, but he’s too dumb to be a threat to Barak.
There is no room for a third party in Democrats’ love affair with Barak Hussein Obama. There’s just the president and the people. Down with any gosh-darned interlopers. And I don’t care if she is his wife.
During the election, Michelle Obama got angry a lot. What was her problem? Michelle clearly has a load of anger inside her that popped out as she made comments. Looking at her background, she enjoyed advantages some Americans never get (taxpayer funded Ivy-league college) and living in a mansion. The IRS says their income in 2007 was $4 million. One would think she would radiate happiness--but no. Obama's campaign was busily protecting her while claiming she had nothing to do with the campaign. What was wrong with that picture? I think Obama’s handlers knew something they didn’t tell.

The woman to the right with her eyes covered by the photographer for her own good is Zarmina, sentenced for a crime she had not committed. She is behind bars in Badam Bagh Central Prison for Women Offenders.
Perhaps here in America we should adopt Sharia dress for our women. Wives would wear the niqāb, an Arabic veil which covers the face. Some Muslim women wear it as a part of sartorial hats and hijāb, overly-large plain dresses called burkas that don’t show their lovely shapes and strong arms. Now that’s ultimate modesty. Could Muslims be onto something?
Most Afghan women are illiterate, face poverty, have limited access to healthcare, and subjected to continued and widespread violence. As if this is not enough, they are often arbitrarily imprisoned for “moral crimes”.
We could spend an entire article on those Michelle Obama arms. She looks more athletic and physical than her husband. I imagine them at night. She wants to go to India on a fact-finding mission but Barak says, “No, honey, it’s too dangerous.” Then she challenges him to arm-wrestle her over it. You know who wins that one. She travels to India taking two jets with make-up artists and a hundred SS men because “…it’s too dangerous.” That’s OK, it only costs two million dollars a jet and several million for the Secret Service.
But look, you can’t measure the great PR this could generate. She could take Deseree Rogers with her – you know, the one who applies her lipstick – and that fine French White House gourmet cook. They would wow their guests and she would always be in style. But why? She’s not president. You just can’t leave Barak to fend for himself like Whimpey often did wolfing down Burger Kings. He would get so heavy he wouldn’t be able to sink his jump shot.
Is Michelle’s Pride the Equal of Hillary’s?
Could Hillary’s lust for photo ops and issue co-opting be a reason she didn’t win the 2008 Democrat Party nomination? People remembered how officious and ridiculous she looked when she was “in charge” of shepherding a losing health care bill through Congress. They resented her, and the more we see of Michelle Obama out there with her own causes, the more Americans will begin resent her, too, unless she confines it to her genuine love for the military. She doesn’t want to be seen infringing upon the presidential power of her husband. He’s our Nobel Peace Prize winner, remember, not her.
On the other hand, I wonder if Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele could get Michelle to defect over to the GOP in 2012? Hey, Mike, offer her the presidency. If she ran against Barak, by golly, I think she could win. Then Barak could be the First Gentleman and have time to improve his basketball skills and join the Bulls, his true ambition. Is there really much difference between Democrat and Republican lawmakers, anyway?
This love-hate thing for the president and against his wife is a tenuous reaction and must be watched carefully in Michelle’s case. Remember, she’s has a law degree from Harvard and is smarter than Barak. In fact, she may be already running the country and making the big decisions. When Barak falls asleep she gets subliminal thought control of him, telling him what he needs to do the following day. Ah, ha! So it’s Michelle Obama the communist who is in control. I want Barak, the conservative, back – the man who ran for president, not this shabby left wing radical who has suddenly emerged putting us trillions of dollars in debt.

Thanks Jiberish and Rochelle Frank: Yes, I believe Michelle could play for the New York Jets or the Washington Redskins if she wanted. She's a very large person. She is also much smarter than her husband, who isn't a dummy, either. But Obama receives his orders from either the world's banks or the U.S. Press because he isn't the majordomo in the grand scheme of things. He's a hireling. But are they priming him to be president of the world? I know, to some, that sounds ridiculous, but it could be true.
And Rochelle Frank, you need to read my blog on Michelle's appointment secretary, Desiree Rogers, which I just published. She is smarter than both Michelle and Barak and yet works for a pittance as Michelle's aide. Read the resume and the amount of money Desiree Rogers had made in private business. She is really presidential material, in my opinion. I won't vote for her, but if Michael Steel were wise he would recruit her to run for the Republicans. But, oh, oh, she might turn out to be a socialist, too.

Thanks for your comment, DynamicS. But you apparently forgot to read my caveat at the beginning. This was written partly in jest, or maybe you missed that part. I believe that when a man or a woman runs for public office they put themselves up to critical review, whether that be satire or the real stuff. That's why it is OK to draw crazy pictures of them which we call caricature, a person that is exaggerated for comic effect. The only people or person we Christians and Jews don't use satire on is God and Jesus Christ, out of respect for their sacredness and deity. And I believe we are still a Judeo/Christian nation. If you place Barak and Michelle Obama in the category of deity, then I most wholeheartedly apologize singularly to you. Much of this Hub is in jest, as you can see, though some is very factual. I'm not a politician. Actually, Hi-Jinks, when a presidential candidate and his wife campaign for election they place themselves in a different category -legally and morally - since they advocate for things, they become fair game. I think you, like some others, however, missed the point of this hub. If you read the preface, I stipulate that this is a satirical hub, and not meant to strictly take her to task like I would the husband, however close to politics she is in how she attempts to influence people. I don't mind at all criticizing her on her comment that "for the first time in my life I feel good about being an American" after Barak was nominated, for example. That is a statement thousands of people - especially reporters - have criticized. It tells who she is. Your comments good, though, and I agree with you - if all you're doing is knocking someone, that's not good. Satire is not knocking people in my view, however.
