In Training (Miami Bound)

Well, I'm taking classes in expanding my poetic vocabulary and tightening up my prose. My first assignment was to use a block of words small and deceptive. Here is the product. I'm waiting for my grade *biting my fingernails*. I wrote about my memories of flying to Miami. Here goes.

Miami Bound

Agog about flying

mix of fear and happiness

wondering how things are

in Orange county

as smoke from the engine

advances from the dismal

city I was raised

in the genesis of flight

pondered ethereal adventures

trickling from the city fraught

of moving scenic postcards

out there in the nexus of

the universe

should depression rapine

sired plans

shaking hands with vapid

and dismal reality

taking deep breaths to allay

myself remembering

accountable virtu

looking out over the clouds

i chuckle like a wag tickled me

wax and adjust my character

tossing thoughts askew

from the plane window

deflecting a crimp in my pleasure

My direction Miami bound

Beautiful Miami

Adore the tensions in this one - a bit of fear + a bit of excitement! Wonderful combo!

Smiles and Light

P.S. I have linked this poem with my poem "Remembering to see with wings". I think they complement each other! Ihope you don't mind!
