Avoid spending money on Female Hair Loss Treatment by prevention.
As you all probably know, I believe that prevention is better than cure or treatment. So I'd like to enumerate first the common causes of hair loss in women, that way you'll have a better understanding on why it happens and you can avoid some of the "controllable" things that you might be doing that causes hair loss.
Ok, the most popular cause of female hair loss is something that you don't have control over, it's hormonal imbalance. This explains why female hair loss is at it's best when a woman is on her menopausal stage or after giving birth.
One of the causes of hair loss in women is Trichotillomania, now this is something you can control. This is when hair is compulsively pulled for whatever reasons, usually it's because of psychological or emotion reason. Alopecia areata, which is an autoimmune disorder that causes patchy hair loss. You need to have a medical examination to get a diagnosis.
Scarring alopecia which is the hair loss due to scarring of the scalp area that usually occurs in women who love to have their hair braided. Telogen effluvium is a form of nonscarring alopecia characterized by diffuse hair shedding, often with an acute onset. This is caused by hormonal or metabolic stress and by medications. The good news is you can recover from this usually within 6 months.
Other causes of hair loss for females are discontinuing birth control pills or hormone replacement therapy, Medications which include blood pressure, retinoids, medication, anti-depressants and certain birth control pills. Burns and radiation therapy are also the usual suspects on hair loss.
Most common Female Hair loss Treatment
Now that we know some of things that causes hair loss in women wether they're controllabe or not, It's time to discuss some of the most common Female Hair loss Treatment. There are several types of hair loss treatment for women. It may be by natural or herbal treatment, medication and surgical.
One of the drugs that have been making noise lately is Minoxidil. Most of the times It helps to slow down or even stop the loss of hair, although it would take about 6 months to see the result. You also might want to try Biotion which is an important member of the Vitamin B group that helps in growth of hair and nails.
Stereoscopic follicular Unit Hair transplantation is one of the treatments for women experiencing permanent hair loss. It works by replacing each hair follicle that is no longer producing hair with healthy and active follicular units so that you'll have a natural hair growth.
Topical Sensitizers is also one of the female hair loss treatments, although it causes an allergic reaction when applied to scalp, it will stimulate the hair follicles and may cause hair growth. Like any other treatments, it will take some time before you see the result, you may need to wait 3-12 months.
Anthralin is used to treat psoriasis which changes the immune function in the affected skin. New hair Growth usually within 8-12 weeks is seen if it works. Cortical steroid is also used for female hair loss treatment, it is administered as drugs, they reduce the body's immune and response. They come in a form of pill, local injection or topical ointment.
The best female hair loss treatment for an invidual depends on what's causing the hair loss so it is strongly suggested that you consult with a doctor so you can get a diagnosis first.
