The History of Fender Guitars
Leo Fender is the founder and inventor of Fender Guitars. Back in 1951 Leo Fender invented his vision of a solid body electric guitar which he named the Broadcaster.
Broadcaster guitars had a trademark problem with Broadkaster and Leo Fender decided to rename them to the Fender Telecaster, nick named the Tele.
Leo Fender's other great invention during this time was the Fender Precision Bass. Finally, bass players could amplify their bass guitars with the Fender Precision Bass.
Fender Telecaster Guitars
Originally known as the Broadcaster, the Fender Telecaster is the original solid body electric guitar for the Fender guitars line.
In the 21st century, the Fender Telecaster still features its classic design with the angled single coil pickup in the bridge and a chrome plated neck pickup.
Most Fender Telecasters have a maple neck with a rosewood or maple fretboard and the body is usually either ash or alder wood. The American Fender Telecaster is one of Fender's finest guitars.

Fender Stratocaster Guitars
In 1954, Leo Fender released one of the most revolutionary and influential guitars, the Fender Stratocaster.
Fender Strat introduced everyone the addition of a third pickup and a body designed. Fender Strats are still being copied by other guitar manufacturers today. The Fender Stratocaster is one of the most popular guitars of all time and a guitar choice for many legendary musicians.
Fender Stratocaster was originally designed with a three way pickup switch. However, guitarists discovered they could balance the switch in between two positions to create a new sound. Fender took notice and incorporated the five way switch into Stratocasters.
Similar to the Telecaster the Fender Stratocaster has a maple neck with either rosewood or maple fretboard, and the body is typically made of either Alder or Ash wood.

Nice work Jenn...What every quitarist would like to know....
I've played guitar on and off for about 20 years now. My main guitar is a Fender Stratocaster modified a bit, but true to its roots. Great guitars. The older the better.
Nice Hub Jenn. I dig Fender guitars. I use to play a Fender P bass, but now I have a TBC (The Bass Company).
Good hub. I've always been interested in guitars, but I learned a little more from this!
Nice hub, have linked to it from one of mine
Ahhh that ever-classic Strat! may just be the most classic guitar of all time, at least in my opinion.
Very cool page. It's easy to see why Fender guitars are so iconic!
