There comes a time when enough is enough. You have assembled a talented squad of international footballers, they never know when to give up and will not lie down. You have the best record of winning Leagues and Cups, you have the best stadia. You have the biggest number, through not necessarily the best supporters in the world and incredible financial clout to bid for the best players. Finally, you enjoy the loyal support from you Owners and Directors.

Staying at the top isn't easy the whole Premier League wants to be where you are, but to keep this status as top dog at all costs means on occasion you can overstep the bounds of acceptibility.

Ferguson is a prime example, for how long will the bullying, rude and ignorant remarks continue before the English FA act? Football is an entertainment and we've all had a laugh about "Fergie Time" but this has now gone too far. What Ferguson wants, Ferguson gets is a clear message which is sent. The continued criticism of referees when decisions don't quite go his way would on reflection be a source of embarrassment to most of us. But the Glaswegian is made of thick skin and in the heat of the battle both on and of the pitch he shows a streak of singlemindness and little consideration for anyone he trends on.

When a child is naugthy the rectification process is through disciple, without disciple the childs behaviour becomes out of control, Ferguson's employers appear accept this childish behaviour and are too weak pull him into line so it really now falls to the FA to react appropriately.

After Saturdays' match against Sunderland the United manager criticised the match referee for not playing enough injury time, this is after United had scored and equalised during the 4 minutes allowed. What cheek, United had played badly against opposition they would normally expect to brush aside and draw was more than they deserved; but their fighting spirit is commendable and you can never count United out until the final whistle. To suggest more time should have been allowed to give United a chance of winner is laughable.

We should take into account personal disrepect of Alan Wiley, to question his fitness capabilities is totally unacceptable, Ferguson would be aware that referees have proven fitness levels endorsed by the FA. Mr Wiley will now unfairly be under the spotlight following this absurd comments.

Against Manchester City a fortnight ago Ferguson had his way and a winner was scored when the referee allowed in excess of 2 minutes over the additional 4 minutes the referee was given. Not suprisely there was no comment from Ferguson. Pathetic really, it's rather like playing 'next goal wins' in the schoolyard before double Geography after dinner.

The power and wealth of Manchester United is immense which leaves the only realistic option open to the FA to make any meaningful attempt to curb Ferguson's petty antics is to deduct points. A fine is pointless. We are surley but slowly moving to a position were this manager is above the law and untouchable.
