In my previous hub, I have talked about when is a woman most fertile. In yet another hub, I have even talked about quantum pills, a drug which enhances the fertility of males and gives them a better and long lasting orgasm. Now that I have talked about a supplement that benefits the guys, how can I not talk about one that benefits women? In a spin-off to that hub, this hub is about Fertile XX. What is Fertile XX you might ask? Well Fertile XX is definitely not an X-Men toy, if that is what you are thinking! Well since it is a spin off from my fertility and pregnancy hub, this Fertile XX has something to do with fertility and pregnancy!

The name Fertile XX comes from the word fertile, which is obvious as this refers to the natural capability of giving life and the word “XX” which actually refers to the two X chromosomes present in the genetic makeup of the cells in a female. In my other hub on when are you most fertile, I have highlighted briefly about the female reproductive process. Even though there are periods when a woman is most fertile, in some cases the woman is just not fertile. Causes of infertility in such cases include genetic factors, endometriosis, pelvic inflammatory disease, a previous miscarriage, scarring or obstruction of the fallopian tubes, hormonal imbalance, or if the woman is suffering from sexually transmitted diseases such as chlamydia. Sometimes, infertility can be caused by other external factors not related to the reproductive system, such as if the female is a heavy cigarette smoker, obese, exercises excessively, does not have proper nutrition, has been abusing drugs, or feels stressed. These are some of the factors that can cause infertility and sometimes there may be other emotional and psychological factors involved as well.

As for men, the fertility of men is dependent on the quality (mature, healthy and mobile) and quantity of the sperm which is produced by the testes, as well as production of his sex hormone known as testosterone. The ability to achieve and sustain an erection for a period which is long enough to ejaculate and deposit the sperm in the female reproductive tract is also important for natural conception.

Some of the causes of male infertility are similar to that of female infertility (genetic causes, infection, tobacco, drug and alcohol abuse, poor nutrition, stress, scarring of the reproductive tract). In some other cases, as the production of sperm requires a lower temperature compared to the body, excessive heat can cause problems to sperm production. Sometimes inadequate testosterone production can also result in male fertility problems. However, do note that in about 40% of male fertility problems, no root cause has been found!

Many couples have been trying very hard to conceive but unfortunately no matter how hard they try, the ladies do not seem to be able to get pregnant. One of the first things a woman should ask is "when am I most fertile". As I have also mentioned in this hub, if you have listened to my advice and did some of those steps that I have outlined, but unfortunately you do not see an improvement to the situation, then perhaps you might want to visit a physician or a doctor.

Why a visit to the doctor is required for some cases is because sometimes there are structural problems present in the male or female that affect infertility. For such cases, the doctors will tell you that the cause of infertility can be corrected by surgery, and the couple may usually be able to conceive after surgery. In other cases, the infertility can be due to serious genetic problems. No medicine, including herbal medicine, can help if the underlying cause of infertility is due to such reasons. It is therefore important to consult your doctor in order to find out what is preventing pregnancy, if you have looked at my hub to find out when are you most fertile and tried to conceive during those periods when you are most fertile but have not seen any results, it is time to pay a visit to the doctor.

Then there are other cases when couples undergo months and sometimes years of expensive and frustrating fertility treatment without positive results.
