Well, Im not yet married but i had few relationships where in my supposed to be mother-in-law becomes a friend of mine... Its simple, "just be yourself" thats what i always try to do... in my relationships i always consider the relationship that i will have with my "in-laws", it is essential for me that i have a good relationship with my in laws so taht once i get or have a problem with my boyfriend i could find someone to run to. they usually have the best advice on how to settle a problem with my partner. There was a time when a guy was courting me, his mothere didn't like me at all, because his mother would always see me smoking outside the campus, be with other guys ( whoa re my friends), sing along and drink.... she thinks that i am not the right girl for his son because of those qualities that i have..... i busted her son for a simple reason that she doesn't like me... but i didn't stop from proving to her mother that iam a good person and i could have been the best girl for her son... I started talking to her and be-friending her, she saw me doing stuffs for the street children near her work and she was surprised.. Inspite of how she judged me i didn't treat her bad. We became friends and eventually she was sorry for how she treated me... Then with my current mother-in-law,,, she used to like so much the ex-girlfirend of my boyfriend, i didn't mind at all, but sometimes i get jealous because of how she treats the girl whenever im not around..i feel like being betrayed. But i just did my ways, i give her gifts, take her out for lunch, treats her to the salon, go to market with her... stuffs like that, and i showed her who the real me is... and im surprised, she likes me for who i am... mother knows and can feel us, they would know the real us sooner and later and i guess its their judgement whether to like us or not.... Love her like how you love your mom in that way she will like you like her own child...=)
