The Misdiagnosed Disease

Fibromyalgia

My daughter began having symptoms over 2 years ago. By the end of the first year she was reduced to sleeping 12 hours a night plus naps in the day and still feeling utterly and completely exhausted. Dizziness and confusion prevailed, she used to be a bright and energetic person but now a depressed little form all achy and crampy. Exercise would just about do her in!

We had many tests done:
Mono- the doctor’s first assumption
She then decided to do a blanket blood test for:
Diabetes
Cancer
Leukemia
Thyroid
Lupus

Praise God they all came back negative….so now what?

Last thought…Fibromyalgia. After that diagnosis that would be it, no more tests, no more hope. I would just have to watch my precious child bear this pain day after day, month after month, year after year.

I finally spoke up and asked for another test to be done. The doctor just looked at me, but upon my insistence she agreed to it.

I had her order a simple “Blood” Food Allergy Test.

When we got the results back, the doctor was totally amazed at the finding. Out of the 10 foods my daughter tested positive for 3. The biggest shocker was the Peanut allergy. On a scale of 1-10 she was an 8.9.

We wanted to check and see if there were any other foods she was allergic to and was directed to a Food Allergy Specialist. They then did a “Skin” test for over 40 foods and they all came back NEGATIVE- even for Peanuts.

My dear girl was eating granola bars, which contained peanuts, as a snack between her college classes for the whole year.

We then discovered that Food allergies affect people in different ways and with my daughter it was Systemic. It affected her internal organs and muscles instead of coming out as a Rash or Hives.

After 3 months of food elimination, my daughter was finally starting to show signs of improvement. Then not too long ago she started declining again, to the point where she was before the food elimination.

We then found out about “Food Families” another person we know had a son who tested positive for Peanuts as well. Well his doctor told him to stay away from “Peas” because they are in the Peanut Family. Also he was advised to stay away from Cashews and Mangos too.

Well wouldn’t you know it…my daughter had been eating frozen peas and frozen mangoes straight out of the bag as a Snack! Her body was being poisoned all over again. She eliminated them again and is now feeling 100% better.

So if you are Suffering from Fibromyalgia, try to get a food allergy test done and see what surprising results may follow.

Once again make sure to request the “Blood” food allergy test, it is more accurate and yes it is more expensive…but OOOOOHHHHH so worth it. YOU are worth it!

Fibromyalgia is so little understand, so heavily medicated and so hard to conducively test for that I think you're right about it being often misdiagnosed. I have two clients in my massage practice that get regular massage to help with fibromyalgia flair-ups. It's so hard for them to know which way to go with things.
